Aveda Hand Relief for BCRF

Aveda is one of the many beauty companies that has made a huge commitment to breast cancer awareness once again this year. When you purchase Aveda Hand Relief cream ($21.00), Aveda will donate $4.00 from each sale to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, up to a maximum of $300,000.
This rich moisture therapy cream uses plant emollients, humectants, exfoliating fruit acids and antioxidants to really nourish dry, damaged skin and actually help diminish the signs of aging.
Throughout the month of October you can purchase Aveda Hand Relief to benefit BCRF up Aveda Experience Centers, participating salon locations and online at aveda.com.

Backstage with Aveda at Yigal Azrouel

Aveda did the hair for Yigel Azroul’s Spring 2010 collection at NYFW, and it had an edgy, chaotic look to it that was also punk and a bit sleek.
The top is textured with tousled volume, and the sides are smooth, and slicked back, with a straight-yet-messy knot at the nape of the neck.
It was pretty hot – as were the designs!
Here’s a look at some backstage footage:

We Go Bohemian at John Patrick Organic

Despite what many may think, the Fashion Week mayhem does not limit itself to the overcrowded tents of Bryant Park – excitement, style, and fashion are brewing all over the place this week.
Keen’s Steakhouse hosted the John Patrick Organic show one that reflected a fun bohemian style both in the designs – and in the hair design.
“I wanted to dig deep below the surface of Bohemian style and create a free-spirited look that’s chic, pretty, and fresh,” says designer John Patrick.
The hair for this show was styled by Odile Gilbert for Aveda. “I call this chic-bohemian look ‘the wave,” …read more
Aveda’s Green Science Kit

My mom is a huge Aveda fan. Almost every hair and skincare product she owns is from Aveda – which means that by default, when I’m staying over for a visit, I get to try out nearly everything new that comes out. Their products are extremely good and one of my favorite things about them is that they don’t tend to be bogged down with overpowering fragrances.
This year for Mother’s Day, I think I’ll treat her to a new Aveda product that I know (okay, I’m pretty sure) she hasn’t tried before. The Green Science Kit is a 4 step …read more

Aveda Men Pure-formance Grooming Clay

Not enough attention is given to men’s styling products, and they have just as much need for sculpting and hold as we do. (Sometimes actually even more.)
For the man in your medicine cabinet, I highly recommend Aveda Pure-formance Grooming Clay.
Perfect for guy needs (the jar is even dark and manly!), it maintains control and hold without adding shine.
It’s also great for adding thickness to their hair, and has a spicy (ok, sexy…), aroma made of spearmint, vetiver, and lavender.
Ladies, we don’t want our men to smell like guava and vanilla. Let them have their own styling products.

Final Day For Free Shipping and Gift At Aveda

When I was a hairdresser, I worked in a salon that sold Aveda products. In order to better educate us about the products we used and sold in the salon, an Aveda professional came out for a visit and did a demonstration. The demonstration was performed on me. I was nervous, because the demo was on skin care and back then I had a bunch of little teeny-tiny bumps on my forehead, almost more like a rash than pimples. I was so self-conscious about the blemishes.
The skin tech used the products on me and the change was swift, it felt …read more
