Dita sunglasses have skyrocketed in popularity lately and been spotted on every celebrity.  Similar to brands like Oliver Peoples, Dita has simple modern designs that are beautiful without huge logos or flashy embellishments.  Dita Eyewear founders Jeff Solario and John Jupiter are inspired by the vintage styles of the ’50s through the ’80s and value the lack of too much branding.  Their Dita frames are handmade in Japan with the highest quality materials.

Dita Lavish Sunglasses in Lavendar Crystal $375

These sunglasses are what made me fall in love with Dita!  The “lavendar crystal” material on the frame is very unique with the varing shades of purple.  The style resembles the square Wayfarer, yet seems more sophisticated with the subtlety of color and tiny metal accents on the temple.

This wide satin headband has a square weave pattern with a thinner bow.  I love the summery look of the bright red gingham-inspired pattern.  This would be great paired with a solid halter dress.

Roberta di Camerino Zebra Bag

They are heavier on the notes that interest me - cardamon, licorice, any sort of woody note – and I appreciate something a little different. So many male fragrances have that “water” smell and the women’s have that sweetness, not flowery, but candy-like.  I don’t want to smell like a teen, I want to smell like a grown-up. I like something spicy and sharp. Something earthy and herb-y.

I had some extra noses to help me with this review. We had a lot of choices and I am the kind of person who likes to pick a favorite.

My favorite of the Women’s scents was Cereus No. 9.  It has notes of Black Currant, Raspberry, Bergamot, Bulgarian Rose, Star Jasmine, Peony, Vanilla, Musk, Sandalwood, and Cedarwood.

The beginning is a strong, fresh citrus, which would be the Bergamot, then it warms and the woodiness lingers. Very nice. My only problemwith any of the Cereus fragrances is that they faded fairly quickly, I wish that they had a little more staying power.

My favorite of the men’s fragrances was Cereus No. 5. My family liked No. 4 better. They would – they are suckers for anything citrus or fruity. I liked the richness of the No. 5, it was sort of “sparky” to me.  As I mentioned above, I love cardamon or licorice notes. They remind me of my dad, one of the only other fellow black licorice fans that I know of.
