There’s nothing as classic as the colour of black and white. This is why we see black and white dresses every year. Black and white is sophisticated, classy, refined and stylish at the same time.

I was browsing through Neiman Marcus this morning, particularly in their Resort Collection section, and came across four black and white dresses that would made amazing gifts for that special fashionista or yourself!

Just Cavalli One Shoulder Dress ($520) – How fabulous is this zebra print dress? It’s also doubles as a tunic so you can wear skinny jeans with it for Fall and Winter.

Andrew Gn Leaf Print Dress ($1645) - I adore the leaf print of this dress. The busy pattern is offset but the simple and stylish silhouette.

Jill Sander Asymmetric Bubble Dress ($1895) – Here’s a fun party dress that you can dress up with multi-coloured accessories.

Valentino Red Tiered Ruffle Dress ($895) – A flirty and feminine dress to wear during the Spring and Summer months. Or if you’re at a tropical destination this Winter, this would make a lovely cocktail dress.

Aren’t they lovely? All of these dresses would be a great choice to wear to a afternoon or evening party. All you need are a few bright accessories like blue, yellow or even pink. If you want something a little more traditional, red is always a fantastic accent colour for black and white.

This JS Collections dress is fantastic. A lot of clothes tend to follow the same pattern, but this one is different while still being in line with current trends. I love the sleeves on this, the little bows on the sleeves, and the piping; the black floral print against the white background is really exquisite.

Arietta has put some wonderful details into this dress (the sweetheart neckline, ruched waist, mesh overlay), and the black skirt in contrast with the color bodice with will have a slimming effect on all who wear it:

I love the print detail on the skirt, as well. The color is listed as “pink,” but it looks more like a rose from this photo. It’s also available in aqua, coffee, purple, magenta, and black and white.

You can get this at Zaftique. They have a VERY weird sizing system, so refer to their sizing chart here. They also offer plus size active wear and intimates, and you can make your own wish list on the site. Bargain hunters will want to look through their sale and clearance sections as well.

I like the way the straps are done on this dress with the keyhole and then coming out of the center instead of at the sides.

It has a breezy, summery feel while still being formal and elegant. This would make a great cruise ship dress. And it’s inexpensive.
