I have broken down the plethora of scarves that I have been eyeing lately into a few main categories to introduce you to the designs that are fashionable this Fall and to help you pick the style that will best fit with your outfit.  Happy scarf hunting!

Infinity Scarf – This scarf is a long loop that can be worn in a couple ways: hanging down like a necklace that falls below the waist or doubled up as seen in the photo.  This is a trendy and artsy look because the style of the scarf encourages you to loop it in new and interesting ways.

Wide Scarf – This is a casual and cozy look that you can pair with any coat or sweater.  The scarf is wide and thick so wrapping only once around the neck creates bulky warmth.  Get one in your favorite bold color!

Square Scarf – This is a glamorous and dressy scarf style that can be found in thin silky fabrics.  Fold the square into a triangle and then experiment with wrapping to create a layered and ruffled look.

Snood – I called this the must-have accessory for Fall because I just loved it on the Burberry runway.  Similar to the infinity scarf, this is also a loop that can be worn bunched around the neck for a high fashion look.  It looks great with a classy cashmere coat.

Ruffled Scarf – This is a textured scarf with stitching that gives it a bunchy ruffled look without requiring much styling of your own.  This is an easy and fun scarf that can be thrown on quickly to add character to a casual outfit.

How to Pick a Scarf Style This Fall

The Dreamy Logo Pocket Pouchette ($298) is shown here in a beautiful Rust colour. Coney Island Lilia Tote ($355)  Here’s a bag that will look fantastic year-round. This tote is made out of quilted nylon trimmed with patent leather and is roomy enough to fit just about everything you’ll need.  What I really like the most are the shoulder straps, the mix of leather and chains is just enough to give it that little touch of edge.

Lincoln Road Allie Tote ($355) Now if you’re looking for a bag that will take you from work to evenings this high-shine patent leather hobo would do the job. The oversized zipper pulls are fun and a bit quirky, but it works with the style.

Roland Park Cecilia Satchel ($495) This is the bag I would choose. It’s a satchel shape, which I love, and the contrasting colours of black, brown and cream leather go so well together. It comes with a detachable shoulder strap and is a roomy 13″W x 11″H x 5.5″D.

Coney Island Stevie Tote ($295)  This is the bag you’d take with you for a day at the beach, poolside and even to a fair or theme park.  This nylon tote is quite cute and comes in green (shown), black, pink and red, perfect to go with just about any outfit. It’s roomy enough to fit all your essentials, snacks, camera and maybe even a bottle of  water. Fill it up and off you go!

As always Kate Spade bags fall under mid-range pricing which is another trait that I really like about her line. If you want to get a great looking bag but don’t want to spend too much money, Kate Spade is the way to go. What I also love is you won’t see a lot of KS bags on other women, unlike other brands, so there’s a bit of exclusivity. You have a choice to carry it as a shoulder bag or adjust the strap to wear it crossbody.
