But for those of us with generous calves, boot shopping can be a real challenge.

You can sometimes get a boot repair person to add an elastic gusset to the inside of the shaft.  Of course, if you can’t try the boot on before you buy it, that makes things all the more challenging.

The tops of the boots are adjustable!  There are leather panels at the top of the boot that can be opened or closed by buckles – allowing ladies with different calf sizes to wear them.

I ended up getting elastic gussets sewn into the insides of my boots – which is a great solution if you have access to a trust-worthy cobbler or shoe repair person.
