Celebrate Your Artistic Vision with Bethany Joy

There will be moments wherein you’ll feel like wearing something bold and artistic to make a statement of whatever mood you’re in. Let Bethany Joy help you.
Another one of the Australian Indie labels I came across, Bethany Joy is a celebration of beauty, artistic vision, luxury, and femininity. And they cater to women who adore the feeling of silk against their skin, stunning design details, and flattering cuts.
It’s actually a great break from the usual contemporary designs. Bethany Joy reminds me of the romance you often feel with period films. It certainly has that vintage feel.

Store Spotlight: KISU Designs by Mylinh

Here’s more of Australia’s Indie Fashion Scene. Now, we’re off to Sydney to check out KISU Design with Mylinh heading the team of designers under the label.
Browsing through designs that are heavily influenced by East meeting West, I had a hard time choosing just one so I ended up picking out four (4) favourites of the lot. Mind you, the decision wasn’t easy.

KISU Red Leaves Dress
You’ll notice how Japanese accents are prominent in the designs. I love this Red Leaves Dress most.
Red Leaves Dress, $99.

KISU Red Rose Dress
I’m currently obsessing about floral prints and patterns. I like the prairie …read more

Skirt Ideas: Pencils and Houndstooth

I’m on the prowl for new outfits. Last trip to the mall here in Marion SA gave new perspectives on what sort of look I’d like to experiment on. Going online tonight lead me to visit LuLu’s again. I’m getting more ideas!
Pencil Skirts

I reckon this will be a good addition to my wardrobe. I’d like to explore the pencil skirt trend. Loving the fabric design on this one.
Next Level Pencil Skirt in Black, $25.

kstyled Denim Miniskirt with Hand-Design Detail

“If you are to examine the photo seen above, you’ll find that there’s a distinct accent, which happens to be hand-designed by local artist Vernon Perez (aka Spoonman), that makes the miniskirt unique. The fact that the detail is hand-designed boasts that no two skirt is the same. Fantastic, isn’t it? That is one of the things I like about clothes that aren’t mass-produced. It’s gives me the satisfaction of owning an item that creates the illusion that it’s especially made just for me.” — Sasha Manuel, StyleManila.com

metallix leggings

Still rockin’ the legging thing?
Totally into Nicole and the Olsen twins and LiLo?
These leggings are for you. They’re metallic, like the ridiculously overpriced leggings from LiLo’s line or premium stores, but they’re handmade.
Better than the rest and cheaper, too.
$30

gentle fawn shorts

These Gentle Fawn Shorts are part of a gigantic sale over at Chosen Stock.
I’m not a huge fan of shorts myself, but these are really cute with the pockets and all the detailing. Twill shorts will go with pretty much anything you’ve got in your wardrobe and could probably be dressed up with some heels and a nice top.
$36.60 from $61. Sizes 2, 4, 6, and 10.

More poofy skirts!
This once is made of happy orange corduroy and pretty tulle. This skirt is so pretty, yet the corduroy totally makes it a little more casual. I like that the photo has it styled for day-to-day wear. See you can wear poofy skirts if you’re not Carrie Bradshaw.
Anna Blues has just enough fabric for another custom-sized skirt like this if you’re not a tiny size 0-2. If you are that tiny, i demand you order this skirt.
$110
Get it at Anna Blues’ etsy shop

something new: hammertime pants

Angela Johnson just released her new fall line and these hammertime pants are part of it.
OK, they’re a little tricky. They’re kinda slouchy and they could look terrible. But they could also be awesome. Slim shirt, something that’ll work out with slouchy stuff.
$100
Be brave. Get the hammertime pants.

I love how simple it is. It comes in plain red and black, too.

custom wide leg jeans

Neurasthenia makes leggings on etsy, which is awesome. But I put the leggings on another day because you have to see these jeans. They’re custom made, so every size can get in on the action (I hate how plus size ladies get lost in the indie world sometimes).
Wide leg, with total retry styling, these jeans are something to keep around. Tuck a shirt into them to lengthen your waist or be a throwback and wear a tunic with them.
Measurements needed to create item. $65.
Get it at Neurasthenia’s shop.
