Today’s weekend Etsy pick is for those of you who love interesting indie jewelry, or vintage maps – or even just for the woman who likes custom jewelry, made just for you!
Jewelry designer Anne Holman uses little pieces of vintage maps to create her unique pieces. The maps are set into her hand-made sterling silver findings and then covered with a layer of resin to seal, protect and magnify the images.
She has map jewelry from all over the world, but if you want a map from a particular place, or places – she’ll make it for you. You could have …read more

B-Side’s graffiti-inspired jewelry

There’s a good reason why Reebok modeled its new limited edition sneaker collection off the paintings of Jean-Michel Basquiat, the late NYC graffiti genius. Spray-painted works of art never lose their cool.
B-Side Jewelry, the offspring of a design duo Ken Leung and Dana Chin, have translated street graffiti into quirky and interesting, but highly wearable necklaces, rings, bracelets, earrings — and even tie clips and cufflinks.
While some pieces, such as their handcuff bracelets (which are exactly what they sound like), won’t work in 99 percent of offices across America, just think of what others — including this gorgeous red-brass chain …read more

New Jewelry With a Vintage Touch

I recently discovered the jewelry shop, “Sorrelli” – it’s a team effort by a trio of sisters. They create lovely jewelry, with a slightly-old fashioned touch of style.
I love this necklace, made with Swarovski crystals. It reminds me of piece of jewelry that you’d find in a really great antique shop:
The matching cuff bracelet is equally lovely, and features crystals in a pale yellow “lemon drop” color:

If you’re looking for a special gift for someone, jewelry is always a big hit. You don’t necessarily have to drop the big bucks for diamonds all the time (at least not all the time!), sometimes it’s the simple and minimalistic pieces that are truly the most impressive. Victorian Hippie is a pretty new brand and from the looks of the collection, the pieces are not only gorgeous but one of a kind.
Taken from the company bio on ShopBop:
Victorian Hippie brings to life an original blend of whimsical and earthy styles that take inspiration from both designer Cynthia Dugan’s personal …read more

When someone says “Burberry” to me, I immediately think of their iconic plaid.
But did you know that Burberry has a great jewelry collection as well? It’s bold, contemporary and sure to make an impact when you wear it!
Their jewelry is made in Italy using faceted, polished glass and brass (some of the brass is plated):
