White Fishnets: Not just For Halloween

I love fishnet stockings. They’re slimming, sexy, and they don’t show runs. In fact, it takes a pretty heavy duty night to put a dent in a high quality pair. I think they would be an excellent choice for under-the-gown dressing.

Maybe no one will even be able to see your stockings, besides your new groom, but isn’t he reason enough to rock these babies? And, in case you’re doing a garter toss, how fab are your legs gonna look when your beau pulls that little fripper of lace down your leg? I can hear the catcalls now. Available for $3.99 …read more

Heirloom Ivory Venice Lace Garter Set

There’s really nothing like that moment in a wedding when the groom lifts his new wife’s dress to remove her garter. Call me old-fashioned, but I think it’s a sweetly sexy moment that should never go out of style. This gorgeous garter set by G. Marasa is totally in keeping with the old-fashioned custom.
The ivory Venice lace has a demure, handmade character that’s perfect for a blushing bride. The sweet little bows and pearls on front add a little shimmery sheen, and I love the little blue ribbon sewn in on the inside for a little subtle something blue. Available …read more

Silk Wrap Teddy by Kiki de Montparnasse

When I was shopping for my wedding, the most fun thing I got to buy was lingerie. Seriously, when is the next time you’re going to feel justified blowing oodles of dollars on underwear? Think about it. I really wanted an excuse to load up on some seriously chic and elegant undergarments, not just the unseemly ones that keep you packed in and pulled up. Here’s one teddy that is totally trousseau worthy.

Excuse my French, but ooh la la! This is one hot little number. 100% silk, total coverage, and yet still barely there and completely see through. I know …read more

Fashion Forms Bridal Kit $11.24 at Macy’s

I know you think you’re never going to need a silicone body bra, double-sided lingerie tape, or silicone nipple covers, but how sure are you, really? At the last minute on my wedding day, the back of my dress was falling down enough to show my bra, and one of my bridesmaids had a pretty obvious case of raisin smuggling. Silicone stuff and tape to the rescue.
This Bridal Kit by Fashion Forms also includes a g-string and garter, neither of which are to my liking. But, who cares, really? Because at $11.24, it’s cheaper than buying the other items separately, …read more

Silk Georgette Camisole and Boxers

When I got married, bridal lingerie is one of the things I had the most fun shopping for. I had to do a lot of shopping, though, because I am terribly picky about the quality of lingerie, and it’s hard to find good quality at reasonable prices. It’s also hard to find things that aren’t, well, cheesy, like covered with lace ruffles and bows and whatnot.
Try to ignore the creepy gold mannequin and just focus on how sweet this little cami and shorts set is. I love the delicate lace edging and the soft fluttering silk georgette. This is definitely …read more

Festive Colorful Garters by Kristi

Ok, I know this isn’t the norm, but surely some one out there can relate. I am having three weddings. Or rather, I have had two already, and have another coming up mid-July. One was in New Orleans, LA, a crazy party complete with brass band. The second was a simple backyard affair in Mount Vernon, VA. The next, and last, is a semi-wank party in Miami.
I love getting to spend all this time celebrating my love, but frankly, I am a little bit tired of being the bride. I’m bored of white and ivory. I want a colorful dress …read more

What’s She Wearing Under That Gown?

So, this week I have been having major problems figuring out what to wear under my wedding gown. The wedding is in ten days, and so far nothing has worked. Until I found the What’s She Underwearing? section on HerRoom.

No, this is not some voyeur’s paradise. This is an insanely useful resource that shows you what to wear under your wedding gown by figure and by dress style. My dress is flowy, drapey, and silky, the kind of thing that shows any seam and any off-color undergarment. Yours may be different, as may be your figure, but What’s She Underwearing? will …read more

Something Blue by Mary Green

We all know the old rhyme about having that little something blue in your wedding wardrobe. No one knows exactly what the color symbolizes, but blue has been connected to weddings for centuries. In ancient Rome, brides wore blue to symbolize love, modesty, and fidelity, and blue remained the most popular color for wedding gowns up until the late 19th century. Well, white has long since surpassed blue in popularity (at least in the US), as far as gowns go, but most of us still cling to that little blue something. Well, here’s something blue that will cling right to …read more
