I love fishnet stockings. They’re slimming, sexy, and they don’t show runs. In fact, it takes a pretty heavy duty night to put a dent in a high quality pair. I think they would be an excellent choice for under-the-gown dressing.

When I was shopping for my wedding, the most fun thing I got to buy was lingerie. Seriously, when is the next time you’re going to feel justified blowing oodles of dollars on underwear? Think about it. I really wanted an excuse to load up on some seriously chic and elegant undergarments, not just the unseemly ones that keep you packed in and pulled up. I know you think you’re never going to need a silicone body bra, double-sided lingerie tape, or silicone nipple covers, but how sure are you, really? At the last minute on my wedding day, the back of my dress was falling down enough to show my bra, and one of my bridesmaids had a pretty obvious case of raisin smuggling. Silicone stuff and tape to the rescue.

When I got married, bridal lingerie is one of the things I had the most fun shopping for. I had to do a lot of shopping, though, because I am terribly picky about the quality of lingerie, and it’s hard to find good quality at reasonable prices. It’s also hard to find things that aren’t, well, cheesy, like covered with lace ruffles and bows and whatnot.

Try to ignore the creepy gold mannequin and just focus on how sweet this little cami and shorts set is. I love the delicate lace edging and the soft fluttering silk georgette. This is definitely bridal lingerie that you will want to wear long after the honeymoon is over. Available for $75 from Sandmaiden.

Ok, I know this isn’t the norm, but surely some one out there can relate. I am having three weddings. Or rather, I have had two already, and have another coming up mid-July. One was in New Orleans, LA, a crazy party complete with brass band. The second was a simple backyard affair in Mount Vernon, VA. The next, and last, is a semi-wank party in Miami.

I love getting to spend all this time celebrating my love, but frankly, I am a little bit tired of being the bride. I’m bored of white and ivory. I want a colorful dress with a fantastical design. But I have to make compromises. I will wear the white dress, but with colorful accessories. So, this week I have been having major problems figuring out what to wear under my wedding gown. The wedding is in ten days, and so far nothing has worked. Until I found the What’s She Underwearing? section on HerRoom.

No, this is not some voyeur’s paradise. This is an insanely useful resource that shows you what to wear under your wedding gown by figure and by dress style. My dress is flowy, drapey, and silky, the kind of thing that shows any seam and any off-color undergarment. Yours may be different, as may be your figure, but What’s She Underwearing? will help you, whatever the case. And it isn’t a gimmicky sales thing, either, the bras I found that were ideal for me turned out to be very reasonably-priced, definitely not on the higher end of what’s available on the site’s shop.
