I loved Lisa’s post earlier in the week about alternative bridal headgear, and it got me thinking. There’s a lot out there for the “modern” bride, the “retro” bride, and the “boho” bride, but what about ladies who are just plain old-fashioned? What happened to those densely layered, frothy veils that women used to wear? You know, the kind worn over the face until it was time to kiss the bride? I rarely see them around. Don’t let anyone tell you that wearing a veil is old-fashioned. Well, maybe it is a little old-fashioned, but in a good way, which we don’t call old fashioned. Call it retro. Or traditional. In any case, a veil is a work of art. It frames your face, showcases your hair, neck, and decollete, and adds a sheer, sweet, feminine touch to a wedding ensemble.
