The 57Grand bridesmaid collection is designed with the city girl in mind, the unique dress styles are inspired by, and named after a New York City streets.

Saukok and Carmen met several years ago, and formed a friendship that has now turned into 57Grand Bridesmaids. When Saukok married in 2007 she was unimpressed with the wear it once bridesmaids choices out there. That is how 57Grand was born, the friends decided to design their own line of wedding gowns that bridesmaids would love to wear even after the wedding was over.

The 57Grand Bridesmaid Collection

I love the 50’s fit and flare silhouette of this dress. The bandeau top with its little ruffles is a romantic touch on a dress with clean, simple lines. The lace fruit motif belt is fabulous on the dress, and you could also wear it with other outfits. The swing skirt will be great on its own, or poufed up with a little crinoline if you like. Ingenue Linen Bridesmaids Dress

The soft, petaly ruffles are what’s really doing it for me, I think. That in combination with the sweet, light silhouette. The color is amazing, as far as I’m concerned, and if I had to go back and pick new wedding colors, this pale peachy nude would top the list of definite maybes. I love the dual layers of the skirt and the pintucked top layer is forgiving enough to fit a lot of ladies. Available for $310 from Sarah Seven.

Peachy Keen Dress by Sarah Seven

The wide v-neck and mock wrap bodice is almost universally flattering, and the elbow length sleeves are a great choice for women who want to keep their upper arms in check. The ruched detail brings in the waist, and enhances the look of an hourglass figure. I love the clean a-line skirt that is concealing and slimming, as the volume increases at the smaller parts of your body. Satin Bridesmaid’s Dress by Donna Ricco

The shape of this dress is straightforward enough to please a lot of bridesmaids. And the cut will flatter a lot of figures, including top heavy ladies who often have a problem in the gown department. The ruffles are a feminine touch on this otherwise tailored design, and I think they add a hint of softness. Plus, if you happen to be bottom heavy, all those ruffles up top will balance you out. Silk Tafetta Halter Sangle Dress by J. Crew

This style is called the “Jill”, and it will be in hot pink to match the buttons on the back of Jane’s dress. I love the flattering fit-and-flare shape of this style, and the rouch detail on the torso. The cross-over v-neck top would be flattering on women of many different shapes and sizes, and I can’t wait to see the pop of the pink. Available for $285 at Charsa.

So, now that I know what the most important women at Jane’s wedding will be wearing, I have a little better idea of what to look for myself. Definitely short. Definitely not too complicated. And, definitely not hot pink. After all, I don’t want to look like some wedding party poseur.

Jane’s Best Woman | The Jill by Charsa

The Caroline by Charsa is a tea-length boat neck in silk duponi with a simple a-line silohouette. I love the spare and elegant design of the front, and the surprisingly dramatic deep v-back, which Jane has personalized with hot pink buttons. I don’t have a picture of Jane’s dress in particular, but I’m sure you can imagine the effect of the hot pink detail against the delicate ivory. Ooh la la, indeed.

While this is technically a bridesmaid’s dress, I think it is the perfect choice for a woman, like Jane, who isn’t interested in being too “bridesy”, but still wants an elegant, heirloom-worthy item.
