This Jemma Kidd Essential Tweezers have ergonomically finger grip and angled pincers for easy handle and gripping the tiniest hair without pinching the skin. Don’t you just hate it when you pinch the skin because there is that 1 (or two hairs) that just refuse to be picked? I can almost feel it.

Are you looking for a tweezer with it’s own compact? I usually just tweeze my eyebrows using the bathroom mirror. Sometimes I’d take my Cover Girl pressed powder compact and my tweezer to the living room and do it there. It’s nice to have a tweezer that comes with a compact case as well. It saves storage, and easier to find when everything is in one place, know what I mean.

I stumbled upon Floxite Precision Tweezer & Compact 8x Mirror from Overstock.com. The tweezer is ergonomically designed for precise tweezing. The compact case is outfitted with an 8x magnified mirror. The overall rating form overstock is 4.1 out of 5. that’s not bad.

Smooth Away is another of those infomercial products that I keep seeing on TV. The View featured it yesterday on their “As Seen On TV” segment where co-host Sherri tested the pads and it actually works.

What is Smooth Away? It’s pretty much a pad that could possibly replace razors. Pads are available in different sizes to use for different parts of the body such as the legs, armpit, upper lip, chin, eyebrows and whatever else you feel the need to shave . One other good thing about Smooth Away is that it supposedly exfoliates your skin while buffing the hair away. Whoopi Goldberg was all over it yesterday and if Whoopi says it works, then it must because I highly doubt Whoopi would BS and lie to us .

Bliss-Philips Bikini Perfect Deluxe Trimmer

It would be hilarious, but I thought of posting a progression of my brows from my three graduation pictures ( a grade school, high school, and college one ), but I am still waiting for the right time to humor you with that ( LOL ).

One thing’s for sure is that as we grow older, the more we become more particular with certain areas in the body – that is, that adds up to our list of groom-ables and worries. 

Take for example, the brow.It was long long ago when the eyebrows were the list of our worries as it lies in its blissfully virginal state. 

Then comes the prom, when you shape your brows for the first time, and after that, you become more aggressive on grooming and shaping your brows the way you like it.

Then, like me, comes the brow spoolie, and brow pencil. The brow spoolie becomes a friend as it “brushes” the hair into one neat direction as my brow hair just flies to every direction, and the brow pencil becomes an ally as it fills in some gaps, and defines and gives more shape to the brow, making the face looking neater and more beautiful.

But really, who’s complaining? I certainly am not. I’m enjoying the additional maintenance needed to keep myself beautiful. I’m more than satisfied with the progression as I grow old. *wink*

Brow Maintenance is a Growing Up Thing

Awhile ago, I was telling myself to stop shopping because I fear that I will be Sophie Kinsela’s next heroine – the beauty and fashion addict, that is. I shopped for Cargo’s Blu Ray High Definition makeup set for my makeup class this May. Sephora, via Amazon, gives away free shipping ( but did not mention tax, sniff ) for purchases $75 and above, so I decided on purchasing something to have free shipping – and well, my eyes were just fixed on this really attractive Tweezerman slanted tweezers. In pink.

Various Tweezerman loyalists have professed on how amazing Tweezerman products fare, them being still sharp for years, and having a lifetime guarantee ( for sharpening ). I’ve thrown away several tweezers through the years as they lose their magic, and well, I’m hoping I won’t have to throw away this one. I’d like to have one tweezer to stick with me through thick and think ( teehee ).

They better work, for I use tweezers practically everyday ( my brows are just so impossible haha! )

Finally, Tweezerman On My Shopping Cart

I’ve seen really good brow grooming kits like Tarte ( this, I really really love ), Anastasia ( of course, the best there is ), Tweezerman ( zee authority! ) Too Faced, and a whole lot more. What I haven’t really seen is a brow grooming kit that makes you wax your brows. Yes, wax. And I thought it only goes for the legs, since I either have my brows threaded or groomed using a tweezer.

Bliss Poetic Brow Shaping Sugar Wax Kit

Even simple things like a thread can be considered as a beauty tool, and a really, really effective one, I may say?

Threading is one of my favorite services in the salon because it grooms my grows-so-fast-like-weed brows quite flawlessly, and even though it makes me cry in pain, well, in the name of beauty, I’ll take it all, I’ll take it all. Haha!

I’ve already had my eyebrows threaded, then took a brave decision in trying out my upper lip. In the future, I might consider some other body parts, but for now, those two will do!

A Thread Is a Beauty Tool, Too.

I like this tutorial in particular because it is pretty simple, and demonstrates via video what books have been illustrating. In my opinion, this video made it easier for me to better understand those countless books and instructions that I’ve read about eyebrow grooming.

The result of her brows are great. Well-groomed brows, and definitely not too thin. I cannot stress the importance of not overplucking for it’d be real hard being dependent on the eyebrow pencil for temporary filling until hair grows back.

I just noticed that Michelle plucked her eyebrows in such speed that I think, is twice as fast as how I usually do it. Well, the white pencil really helped!

To end, I’d like to share a tip with you. Make sure you do your eyebrow grooming right after taking a shower for the skin’s still soft and pores are open – grooming would be easier, as the hair gets plucked quite easily. Also avoid grooming your brows during your monthly period as it would be more painful that time. Do you have other eyebrow grooming tips? I’d love to hear from you!
