BCBGMAXAZRIA Jersey V-Neck Gown on Sale

For a simple look, get this dark chocolate BCBGMAXAZRIA gown on sale right now at Bloomingdale’s. This long dress has a v-neck and back, plus it’s made from an acetate/spandex jersey knit so it’s very comfortable.

Chocolate brown is a fantastic neutral for fall and winter. It’s a nice alternative to black. This gown is priced at just $228, marked down from $380. I think it would look fantastic with a pair of strappy sandals.
Check out more BCBG Max Azria dresses. I love the styles whether you are looking for something more casual or formal.

Wedding Colors – Pink & Brown

One of the color combinations that I really love for weddings is pink and brown. Here is a fabulous bridesmaids dress (style #2719) from Dessy that fits the bill perfectly.

The tea-length chiffon dress features matte satin trim. The photo here has the color combination of cotton candy and espresso. However, Dessy offers 55 different colors, so you can definitely experiment and find the combination that is right for you.
Check out these out these other Dessy and After Six dresses using the same colors.

Plus Size Dress is Slimming & Elegant

Arietta has put some wonderful details into this dress (the sweetheart neckline, ruched waist, mesh overlay), and the black skirt in contrast with the color bodice with will have a slimming effect on all who wear it:

I love the print detail on the skirt, as well.  The color is listed as “pink,” but it looks more like a rose from this photo.  It’s also available in aqua, coffee, purple, magenta, and black and white.
You can get this at Zaftique.  They have a VERY weird sizing system, so refer to their sizing chart here.  They also offer plus size active wear and intimates, …read more

Long Organza and Satin Dress in Brown, Purple, or Pale Yellow

I think this organza and satin dress would look stunning on a brunette or someone with an olive skintone:

Here’s a closer look at the bodice:

(Sorry, that’s the highest zoom I could get.)  It’s available at eternitystore.com, which specializes in modest dresses.  But if you’re not in the market for modest, don’t let the label turn you off to the dress — it’s just as pretty as any of the dresses you’d find at a prom-specific store, and it’s a lot cheaper than most of those prom stores — compare at an average of $300 or more for prom-specific sites and $160 for …read more

Would You Like Some Couture Candy, Little Girl?

Found a really cool site called Couture Candy, and this Tricia Fix dress:

Here’s a closer look at this fantastic print:

I find some designers mix prints together that should never be mixed together with sometimes hideous results.  Not so with this dress, as the combination of designs within the print compliment each other nicely, both in shape and color.
The golds and browns in this dress would look great on someone with autumn coloring (usually brown-eyed brunettes), but the blue could possibly play off of someone with blue eyes, as well.  This dress is also nice in that it is not so fancy that you …read more
