Review : Burt’s Bees Lip Stash ‘Mixed’

Recently, I completely ran out of my beloved SoftLips lip balm so I headed straight away to my local drugstore. Unfortunately, the store was out of my favourite SoftLips flavor (Strawberry). Bummed and not having the time to jet off to another store, I reached for my second favourite lip balm, Burt’s Bees.
Now, I hadn’t used Burt’s Bees lip balm for years and years (goes to show you how much of a fan I am of SoftLips!) and I was a little apprehensive about buying it again but one always needs to moisturize their lips!  I couldn’t decide between all …read more

Burt’s Bees Vitamin E Body and Bath Oil

When shopping for bath and body products, I try to find brands that use natural ingredients such as plant extracts, grasses, fruit extracts and other botanical ingredients. Just because it says NATURAL on the front of the bottle doesn’t mean that it is. Be sure to actually check the ingredient list to see what you are actually buying.
Also look for ingredients that nourish and hydrate your skin. For example, aloe vera penetrates the skin with its healing properties to to soothe and really moisturize dry skin. Products containing shea butter can reduce inflammation, as well as improve the appearance of …read more

The Fresh Scent of Apricot

I think we can all agree that babies smell incredible after a bath. My kids are now 10, 16, and 18, so it’s been a long time since I got to smell their sweet, little baby heads. Luckily, I am Aunt to 6 kids, one of whom is still a baby. Hayden.  Here he is. Doesn’t he look like he smells wonderful?

When my kids were little, I used to splurge on Burt’s Bees Baby products from the Health Food Store.  Now you can find them all over in stores like Long’s Drugs or Target.  My favorite products were the Baby …read more

The Greening of Clorox?

I’m sure you read, with great interest, that personal care products brand Burt’s Bees was purchased by Clorox for. . . a lot.   They now have a line of cleansers called “Green Works”.  Obviously Clorox is trying hard to make its image more environmentally friendly.  There are already many great, more natural cleaners like Mrs. Meyers , Caldrea, and Method.
Were you a Burt’s Bees fan that feels betrayed?  Will you continue to support the products?  Do you think the recipes or quality of product will change?
