The 2009 MTV Movies Awards were highlighted by a scripted (or unscripted?) performance by Sasha Baron Cohen and Eminem. However, the fashion… I don’t know if that was quite a highlight. I was more impressed by Jorma Taccone’s pastel suit than I was by the over done cream dress worn by Miley Cyrus. It just was not a good night for fashion. And I was hoping for better. Oh well, there’s always next year.

But, what I was stoked about was seeing Cameron Diaz. Oh Cameron. How it has been too long. I loved your toned down look, your skinny jeans, and ankle booties. You hit the nail on the head. And it may come from experience. You’ve been to these award shows so many times that you just put the outfit on ten minutes before you leave the house and are perfection. None of this “What am I going to wear?” nonsense I see on twitter from Stephanie Pratt and Lo Bosworth. Talk about self indudgent. I don’t care! Just show me some more Rob Pattison (or Andy Samberg…)!

Anyway. Cameron Diaz was wearing some snazzy suede ankle Giuseppe Zanotti ankle boots and casual by chic J Brand skinny jeans. I am still looking for the exact place where you can pick up the ankle boots, so this pic will have to do. However, J Brand jeans are a staple in every fashionista’s closet. So, pick some up at Sak’s Fifth Avenue for $158.

What are your thoughts about the fashion at the Awards? Hits? Misses? Waste of time? Almost like Awards Season?

Cameron Diaz is sporting a fresh summery look with a cute asymmetrical straw fedora. It’s great to see a woman sporting a fedora with a classy and sophisticated style (no offense to Britney Spears). I love the whole look with her loose updo, slouchy white sweater, and flat sandals.

The asymmetrical fedora has a distinct fold up on one side balanced with a slant down on the other. I would definitely say that this style has attitude!
