One confirmed item to be heading to the museum is First Lady Michelle Obama’s gown, designed by Jason Wu, from that evening. Currently the Smithsonian holds 21 dresses from previous First Ladies.

If it were me, it’d be hard to give up that hat. I mean, I think it’d be great for the museum to have such a hat in the museum, commemorating such a wonderful event, but it’d be difficult to give away.

The Smithsonian Wants Aretha Franklin’s Hat

"We even have a lot of men calling to get it for their wives, mothers and grandmothers. They want the same hat, but they understand it’s for the ‘Queen’ only. Ninety-nine percent said, ‘That’s fine. I’ll get the next best thing.’"

According to him, Franklin put together the design of two different hats to make the bold design of hers. "She walked through the shop and said ‘I want that bow (put) on that hat,’" he said. "She had the coat already, but she needed the hat to set it off."

Media Goes Wild for Aretha Franklins’ Hat

The ceremonies were great and we saw a heart-warming performance from musical legend Aretha Franklin, and boy did she ever make an appearance. Her hat really stood out. As you see below, the bow on her hat should have it’s own postal code!

Like they say, “big is beautiful!” According to the LA Times, Aretha actually got her hat from Mr. Song Millinery in Detroit where Luke Song makes ladies hats. This one has lovely Swarovski crystals putting this hat at a retail price of $179! Although, she got this in Detroit, Mr. Song also sells some of his work at places like Brasseur, Donna Vinci, Maxi, PJ’s, Hat Library, Jean Nobles and Pam Imports in Los Angeles.

Aretha Franklin’s Hat with Bow at Obama Inauguration

This particular fedora is pretty darn similar to Batista’s regular style. He’s always sporting a fedora with a colorful feather and often the hat’s body is all black.

The hat to the left is the Jaxon Blues Crushable Fedora. It’s 100% wool and is flexible, making it easy for travel, or in this guy’s case, catching bad guys. You can get it in black, brown, navy and grey for $32 if you order it at Village Hat Shop.

Though, he’s got so many different styles, the detective and sergeant is probably most commonly seen in this type of style. It’s a light colored fedora with another feather.

This is the Panama Teardrop Fedora by Belfry Gable, on the right. One of it’s greatest features is that it’s water repellent. You can also remove the feather, so if it’s not your thing, then don’t worry about it. Because this hat is such high quality it will cost you a bit. I’m liking Fergie’s cloche. It’s a cute addition to any outfit, really. This Belfry Novak Patent Leather Cloche is similar to what “The Duchess” is wearing.

Maybe she should have tried something more like this pretty satin hat by Betmar. It’s called the Satin Touch and I do think it’s a nice compliment to appropriate events.

Audrina Patridge of MTV’s “The Hills” was seen flaunting a pair of what looks to be Gucci sunglasses and a white knit beret. Want to get her hat and shades look for much less? Try these style tips below

The Hat

On the right we have the 8370 Luxe Simple Cable Knit Sweater Beret which looks a lot like the one Audrina is wearing.  It’s got a soft and snug fit to it and if you’re not a fan of the white color you can also get it in black, brown, sand and red.  It’s available at Blue Dame for $18.80.

The Shades

It looks like Audrina’s wearing the Gucci 1827 sunglasses, which usually cost somewhere around $375, but if you get them at Best Buy Eyeglasses, you can get them for $206.99.
