These are definitely not Dorothy’s ruby red slippers (and we are for sure not in Kansas anymore!); these Glitter Peep Toe Pumps are much more of Cinderella shoe. I would totally let my Prince Charming take me away to the Ball in a gown and these 4 inch heels and red soled dream shoes. They are $725 from Neiman Marcus.  It saddens me to say that they are not part of the First Call Sale.

Christian Louboutin Glitter Peep-Toe Pumps

Let’s face it, how often do designers actually send a comfortable pair of shoes down the runway?  How often have we seen models end up carrying their shoes by the end of the runway, or even worse – literally falling out of them?

Do Real Women Wear Flat Shoes?

I’m crazy for this picture, not just for the inherent irony, but because I love that Rihanna eschews traditionally conservative wedding garb in favor of honoring her own personal style. I love the Alexander Wang dress and Christian Louboutin’s. Work it, girl.

Oh, yeah, and here are the bride and groom looking fabulous! That almost floor-length mantilla is seriously covetable, and I wouldn’t be surprised to find the mantilla making a major comeback.

Rihanna At Marc Jordan’s Wedding!

In Rachel Zoe’s words, “I died” when I saw these Christian Louboutin Jeweled Platform Slingbacks from his fall collection. They’re are so insanely gorgeous that I can’t stop looking at them and dreaming up all sorts of fabulous outfit combinations… *sigh* Yes, they cost $2830 and that’s enough cash to get yourself a Chanel bag or a ballgown!  These shoes are a true work of art. The metallic cobalt blue spechio is adorned multicolored jewels and it’s a sky high at 5″.

You Can’t Go Wrong with Christian Louboutin

I’ve already written about some of Christian Louboutin’s new mesh-detail shoes – but he’s not the only one getting into the sheer fun.  Dior, and Jimmy Choo both have mesh shoes for Fall 2009.

Of course, if you’re going to rock the mesh look, there is a time and a place for it…  In my neck of the woods, winter involves some serious snow and cold – which is just not so practical for high heeled mesh shoes!  Now if winter just means you don’t need to have the air conditioner on all the time – go ahead and have fun!

The Dior “Corset” bootie is made using kid leather with a lace upper, and is available in both brown and black.

The Jimmy Choo mesh bootie is made from a fishnet lace mesh, calfskin trim and embellished with silver studs.

And one more pick from Christian Louboutin…  The “Ambro” peep-toe pump comes in both black striped lace (shown here) or black leopard print lace, accented with patent calfskin.

Sexy Mesh Details – For Fall?

Aren’t they to die for? These ridiculously scrumptious velvet shoes are truly one of those investment worthy pieces. Let’s discuss each one, shall we?

The Christian Louboutin Lima Buckled Velvet Sandal ($1145) is definitely the one I would choose. It incorporates the prevailing ‘gladiator’ trend but it doesn’t overwhelm it so it’s only wearable once. It’s available in rich Burgundy or Marron (gold), classic shades to accent or work as a contrast for any chic ensemble.

Next up is another opulent Christian Louboutin selection. The Lady Page Velvet Bow Pump ($995) shown here in a deep Prune shade (also available in black), are equal parts sassy and sophisticated. These are the shoes to buy if you don’t want to go all out with the velvet trend.

Lastly, we have the Lanvin Velvet Platform Pump ($1045).  These are the shoes to get if you want to add drama to your outfit. The platform, the gros grain bow and peep toe are definitely dramatic and sexy.

Vampy Velvet Shoes for Fall

These Christian Louboutin Miminette 70mm Pumps are a perfect example of how an investment piece doesn’t have to be boring. The patent leather and amazing comfort that comes along with these small heels are amazingly understated, but still chic. Of course you could pick up a pair of patent leather pumps from a non-name designer from Target, Wal-Mart or even DSW, but will someone stop you on the street or at a job interview and say “Where in the world did you get those shoes?”

These shoes are available at Net-A-Porter for $595. They are 3 inches (hence the 77 mm in the name for all you Americans) and have the signature red soles of all Christian Louboutin heels.

Birthday presents, boxes of chocolates, fancy cards – bows mean something special is inside, right?

So why not adorn yourself with a pretty bow?  After all, you’re definitely special!
