The Fashion List

I’m a sucker for up-to-the minute info about what’s happening where!
So I was definitely excited when I was introduced to the The Fashion List – an online calendar of all things fashion-y.

The Fashion List has an online schedule of which fashion shows are happening where, and allows you to create your own personal calendar of which events you’d like to attend.
Cool, no?
It’s still in the beta stages, but you can sign up online and keep in the know

Bosom Buttons

Bosom Buttons

Love that low-cut blouse, but hate worrying about wearing it in case of a “wardrobe malfunction”?

The “Bosom Button” was designed to prevent little oopsies & can also be used to secure other garments.

It’s a essentially a Swarovski crystal pin, but it’s definitely easier than using a safety pin (and more decorative too)  I don’t know about you lovely ladies, but I’ve had more than one safety pin pop and that hurts!

products for tender tootsies

There’s no point in wearing summer’s strappy sandals if your feet aren’t ready to show off
I just got to try out a new product from Spongeables, called “Pedi-scrubs”, that should help keep your feet in strappy-sandal condition.

Pedi-scrubs are a two sided sponge (one side is soft, for skin and the other is a pumice sponge for soles) infused with soap.  They did a great job of buffing my heels (where I’m prone to getting calluses) and were gentle enough for my toes.
I tried out the green citrus-eucalyptus after a long day on my feet & it felt wonderful… …read more

solutions for hardware issues & purses

I just got an email from a reader who asks:
“I purchased a Via Republica handbag a few months ago from Nordstroms and love it. Unfortunately one of the hardware screws fell out and the store says they just have to take the purse back and do not have a replacement for this exact one. Do you have any suggestions before I give up my favorite bag? ”
I’m not sure where to find the exact replicas of the missing screw, but I would recommend you take it to a good shoe-maker or even a horse supply store (tack or harness store)

Juicy Couture watch charm

I’m helping another reader today (by the way – send me any questions you need  – there’s a link to my email over on the right side of your screen)
I’ve got a request to find a charm for a bracelet that’s also a working watch.  I haven’t come across any that are sold separately , but Juicy Couture makes a very cute stainless steel  charm bracelet that includes a heart-shaped watch with a mother-of-pearl face.

Hope that helps!

shoe hacks – solutions for “sandal slapping”

What happens if you find a very cute pair of sandals, like these yummy silver ones by Siegerson Morrison:

But don’t like the “slap, slap, slap” noise that sometimes happen when you walk on hard surfaces?
Try taking a length of pretty ribbon (check out your local craft store – most stores have amazing selections of ribbon) about a yard long.  Put on your pretty, but noisy sandals, and run the ribbon underneath your shoe, in the instep.  It should fit snuggly against the heel.  Make sure both ends of the ribbon are even and then wrap them around your ankle, like …read more

summer hats

Did you know that the only truly proven anti-aging trick is to avoid too much sunlight?  Sunburns can wreak havoc with your skin and can even cause skin cancer.  Isn’t it worthwhile to avoid the burn, especially if you can do it in something cute like this?

This is a natural straw hat from Hat Attack.  I love the detailing on the brim
