Buying Luxury on a Budget

The economy may be falling, but that doesn’t meant that you have to sacrifice your luxury fashion tastes. One of the best ways to keep track of sales and to save money on luxury fashion to subscribe to your favorite stores e-mails and twitter accounts. They update them constantly. Some evenings, when I return from work I will have nearly 10 e-mails from from stores and only one or 2 e-mails from real people. Maybe that speaks to my use of social media instead of e-mail, but nonetheless, it keeps me updated!

In regards to saving and the Spring season, if you aren’t quite ready to throw out your dark prints, take a look at these Badgley Mischka dresses available at Bluefly.com.

Chocolate metallic floral neck tie dress

This has a a bit of a fall feel, but has the small floral prints that make it a great transition piece into the Spring season. It also has a neck tie that has been seen all over the place. I think it is beautiful. It has puffed sleeves with a full skirt. It is on sale for $306.

Taupe floral embroidered ‘Hannah’ belted dress

I don’t just like this dress because it has my cousin’s name in it, I like it because of the taupe color and the belted middle and scoopneck. This is $303.

Chocolate abstract burn-out chiffon belted dress

This is chocolate, orange, and brown combination that is another great transition piece from winter to spring. It has a sultry v-neck, but has an inset little cami so you don’t have to feel too sexy if you are going to wear it somewhere like the office or out with the kids. This one is $328.

Like many people, events, and television shows, the year would not be complete without a countdown of the Top 10 Best of something here at the Latest Luxe. Earlier in the month I thought about doing a countdown of sorts, but by shear procrastination that just isn’t going to be possible. It would be March by the time I’d get to that. So, without much fanfare and excitement here are the Top Ten Most Luxurious Items from the Latest Luxe in 2008!!

Most Luxurious Items found at The Latest Luxe 2008 Edition….

10. The Dolce & Gabbana Miss Easy Way Quilted Boston Bag . This versatile and oh so glamorous D&G bag suites everyone’s on the go nature. It comes in Red and Gold.

9. Every girl wishes for a pair of Manolo Blahnik heels. Sabah found these Leopard Sandals on May 20, 2008. The top strap is super sexy and the 4 inch heel is just stunning. I think I need a pair for this New Year’s Eve, even if I’m going to be sitting on the couch watching the ball drop in my pajamas.

8. Yet another simple and adorable bag, this Versace Patent Hit Bag comes in at elegant eight. If you’re not one for trends, but one for quality and for timelessness, then this is the one for you.

7. Even more handbags!! What?? Are you Serious? Sabah was on top of things in January when she brough us a Sneek Peek Top Eight Gucci Handbags for Spring 2008. I’ve got to hand it to her, she had a way with the handbags! They were all winners!

6. Don’t forget about the casual girl in you though! That’s what the number 6 post did for everyone. The Gucci Barcelona Tennis Shoes are a bit of glam for the athlete in you.

5. There’s even more sophistication found in these Dior Folies Suede Pumps from the summer season. Our number five ranking is a break from the wedges, flip-flops, and metal pumps of the summer season.

4. The Grecian inspired look was all over the runway this season. From flat sandals to strappy dresses to my number four pick, these Gucci Mabouska Studded Sandals.

3. Everyone seemed to agree with my sentiment that I should buy these Christian Louboutin Armadillo Striped Satin d’Orsay Sandals that I found in December while shopping at Neiman Marcus. That’s why they are coming in at number 3.

2. Perhaps another shopping event inspired Sabah’s entry about these Christian Louboutin Very Croise Platform Slingbacks that were the focus of the post, Very Croise Indeed with Christian Louboutin and had the second highest number of readers during 2008.

1. And finally, the number one post of the year, it isn’t shoes, it isn’t a handbag, it’s an Issa London Kimono Dress that wasn’t a wrap dress or event a tunic dress that were so trendy for the Spring/Summer season of 2008.

While the wrap dresses and tunic styles of the season provide plenty of opportunities to flaunt your beach-ready body this season, an Eastern-inspired look may be a better match for those summer revelries ahead:

The Issa London Kimono Dress features a plunging V neckline, full bell-style sleeves and sash and tie detailing.  It’s a multicolor printed dress that will wrap around those curves with ease.

The abstract print is a fresh take on the season’s florals, and the pure silk dress means you’ll be plenty comfortable on those hot summer nights.

The Roberto Cavalli Tulip-Sleeve Dress features unique draping sleeves and deep v-neck cut.

Prepare for a perfect hour-glass silhouette with the help of the wide-cinched waist belt that clasps together right in front. A pencil skirt and ruched seams on the collar make this a very-feminine addition to that Spring wardrobe.
