Row|Nine Officially Launches!

A few weeks ago, I wrote about the beta release of the Luxury Sample Sale site, Row | Nine. Well, guess what friends? After after few months of beta release, the site is up and running just in time for the start of the Holiday season. However, this isn’t just another site where you can find Just Cavalli, Zac Posen, or even Tufenkian Rugs on sale every few weeks. Row | Nine is exclusively focusing on luxury timepieces and accessories.

There is a plethora of sample sale sites out there. It seems that I can set my alarm to 9:45 am everyday to indicate when the sales start on specific sites. But, as these sites have grown, the quality of merchandise may be falling (just a tad, this is still luxury fashion after all!) Row | Nine’s top priority is to keep the luxury shopper’s attention.

Some sample sale sites sell Oscar de La Renta next to Tommy Hilfiger bedding and Bug-A-Boo strollers. It’s becoming harder to go to a site, find a great piece and buy it right away. Row | Nine is ”a new online private sale experience designed specifically for luxury consumers that are looking for great brands and great values,” says former Yahoo! executive and founder of Row | Nine, Lawrence Kosick.

Business Casual Look from Gucci

Are you looking for a some new office looks this Fall season? Sick of the normal black pants and button up top? Gucci, I think, has a great look that my professional l luxury fashionistas can pick up at Sak’s Fifth Avenue.

The top is stretch cotton with a “golf ball” like pattern in black and white. It looks to cinch in pretty nicely in the waist so it won’t look too manly (you would only expect the best from Gucci, right?) It is currently $590.

The Stretch Tweed Spat Pants totally make the look. They are a slim fit, totally trendy, but not too over the top (if I may say so myself). They do have belt loops so you can rock a silver or black belt. There are side pockets so you can keep your little hands warm during the upcoming warmer months. These pants are $825.

Now that you know just how amazingly comfortable and luxurious these Gucci pants and top are, don’t you just want to run out to Sak’s to pick them up? I certainly do!

Erin Fetherston Marching Dress

Why hello there 1987, I’ve missed you. I will bet all of you that I can dig up a picture or two that showcases family members of mine wearing dresses much like this Erin Fetherston Marching Dress. I still haven’t quite decided whether this dress, though, showcases the good qualities of the 1980s or the bad qualities of the 1980s. What do you all think?

The dress is professional but is a bit chic with a dash of uniqueness. I do like how the buttons down the middle do not line up, but there might be a bit too many buttons for its own good. The ruched shoulders and cuffed sleeves are interesting as well. Personally, however, I think the strong shoulder is throwing me off. If the strong shoulders are not throwing you off, though, you may pick up the dress at Shopbop for $1,095.

Much like all other clothing items, leggings have different Price points. You can run to Target to pick up a $12 pair of black or brown leggings that you only plan on wearing once or twice will be great piece. But, if you are looking for something uber original that makes you stand out, like most luxury items, then those cheap-o leggings won’t do it for you will they?

That’s why you need to pick up some great leggings like these Tye-Dye Leggings from David Lerner. You can get these black and white tye-died nylon spandex leggings from Neiman Marcus for $99. They look great with some casual flats or, as pictured grey heels. I would probably wear a longer tee to go with the leggings, but that’s just me, since I am really short. Whatever you plan on wearing with leggings, I do think everyone should have a pair of plain ones and a pair of funky ones like these ones. What do you think?

Tory Burch Collin Top

I love the cooler months of October through March. It gives me time to break in the sweaters and jeans. But, there are always those days when the building I am in (whether it’s an office building or a store) has the heat cranked up to 100 degrees making it feel like the middle of August. It really makes the need for a sweater just…unnecessary. But, if I walk outside to the car or to grab lunch down the street I will feel the chill in the air. So, what in the world are we to do?

Why not put on a funky long sleeved button up silk top a la Tory Burch’s Collin top? It buttons down the top and has a great ruffle down the front. The great pink, navy, and almost light blue color makes it great office look, but you could easily dress it up for a weekend out. You can get this at Neiman Marcus for $295.

Everyone deserves to have a few little black skirts in their closet. There are fun black skirts, there are professional black skirts, there are the black skirts meant for dancing…the list can go on and on and on. The Iris Skirt by caamilla and marc is a little bit of fun, dancing and girl’s night out all in one.

The skirt is made of tulle and includes a woven banding at the top with ruching at top. It is 18 inches long and has a 100% bamboo trim. It is a splurge at $322. But, for such an enjoyable skirt why the heck not go for it? I’d totally wear some stunning metallic heels and a funky top with this. And if you’re not fully in love with the black, you could get it in white (which shows off the detailing a little bit better). You can get this at ShopBop.

I’ve only been to Ikea once. Once was enough, it’s love. I own a Hopen bed, a duvet cover, a lamp, and some other knickknacks from the store. I appreciate the modern and sensible style of the store, when applied the right way. The wrong way to apply the Ikea style – on the Spring / Summer 2010 runway in Paris.

Lie Sang Bong embraced the Ikea style in all the wrong ways today in Paris. I think I’ve seen this bowl at Ikea. I would put some fruit, some beads, or some jewelry for safe keeping in it. But, not on my head! Maybe if I’m planning on going up to space to be with the aliens. This is ridiculous! And if I am going to play devil’s advocate it almost looks as if the model’s hair is tied underneath her neck.

In addition to the hat/bowl check out that dress! It sure looks like these could be some bluish grey curtains pinned to the model’s body. It’s just disastrous. Lie Sang Bong, if I were a judge on Project Runway, you would be out. I’m sorry. It was a good laugh, though.

Whether it’s a big bad black coat or a fitted bomber jacket, you should definitely put the leather jacket on the list of items to buy this Fall season. I am always looking for comfy alternatives to the terry cloth sweat pant that I cannot get away with wearing to work. You know those days. The day when you wake up and just cannot get moving. Even thinking about brushing your teeth and hair is just a hassle. In the end, your hair ends up in a bun or barely straighten and your co-workers are lucky that you put on lip gloss before stepping out of the car. If those days are more common then the good days, consider at least being a tad bit stylish!

I found the perfect pant for those kind of days. And they even look a bit like the harem pant that I still haven’t quite figured out. One of these days I may come around to them — like the jumper that I finally embraced this weekend.
