High Fashion on a Low Budget: Part 1

We all know the myths, that celebrities never pay retail and models frequent flea markets, so why does it seem so difficult for us regular types to save money on style? Here are ten tips to keep you well-dressed, even when the economy is depressed.
10. Let Go of Labels. Buy Designer Reproductions.

Of course, we all know that being covered in logos doesn’t make you fashionable. But sometimes it’s still hard to let go of the old, reliable fashion houses (or even the newer hipper ones), because labels speak to us of high quality and good design. But there are plenty …read more

What Marc Jacobs is up to these days…

We have come to know him for his shoes and handbags, but did you know that he has been chosen to design 42 costumes for Amoveo which will be playing at the Palais Garneir in Paris from November the 10th to November 18th. I just got back from checking out the Palais Garneir aka The Opera House and it is one amazing piece of architecture. It is definitely going down on my Must See list. Oh and one more thing… you just must check out the Grand Staircase! Another must see.

It’s Called Arm Candy

“Designer handbags are being hailed as the saviours of the ailing fashion industry. While clothes have been struggling to make money for London’s fashionable high street traders, handbags and other accessories are bucking the gloomy trend.”
Can’t say I’m surprised. It seems that we want one to match each outfit… or at least work with whatever we are wearing! Arm candy… now I like the new name. Makes me want to go out and buy yet another bag just to show off!
And I would pair it up with something like this, but remember, handbags should first and formost compliment your …read more

You Don’t Have to Like Everything…

I’m not including a photo with this entry for a reason. It all started on Saturday when I was going through the fashion section of the newspaper and I couldn’t believe how horrible the outfits were. They were realllllly horrible! But that is just my taste. But, I think that I have the right to look at something and like or dislike it and you do too. Just because a designer tells you that this trend is what you should be wearing… it’s up to you. If you hate it, just smile and walk away. It’s that easy.
