Balenciaga CEO Isabelle Guichot had this to say about the venture, “Fragrance is something that was absolutely missing in the Balenciaga universe,” Guichot told WWD, “We want to extend the Balenciaga brand to a broader audience.” No word yet on what the fragrance will be called or what notes it will consist of.

Paris is the last of the “Big Four” fashion weeks, and quite often the most extreme and avant garde of the four.
The designers have kicked off their Spring & Summer 2010 collections with a bang – so let’s get to the good stuff already… bring on the accessories!
I must admit to not having a particular theme for this post – I’m simply sharing some of my favorite early picks from the runway. So what’s making me drool right now?
I’ve been a fan of Issey Miyake for many years now – even though the fashion sometimes takes a turn into the …read more

Mesh details are showing up in an unexpected place – shoes for Fall & Winter!
I’ve already written about some of Christian Louboutin’s new mesh-detail shoes – but he’s not the only one getting into the sheer fun. Dior, and Jimmy Choo both have mesh shoes for Fall 2009.
Of course, if you’re going to rock the mesh look, there is a time and a place for it… In my neck of the woods, winter involves some serious snow and cold – which is just not so practical for high heeled mesh shoes! Now if winter just means you don’t need to …read more

If you’re going to treat someone special to a pretty new dress, you should invest in a little black dress. With the proper accessories, a little black dress (or LBD) will look special and ‘of the moment’ no matter what the occasion and season. For Fall the little black dress, although always a classic, is in the limelight again.
Blumarine Lace Neck Dress ($945) – The lace on the neckline of this dress makes it sweet but not too girly. The off centre slit on the front is sexy but demure too!
Missoni Bateau Neck Knit Dress ($1335) – This is a …read more

One of the huge trends for Fall 2009 is the tough rocker chic vibe. It’s a blend of edgy and chic. As I covered with the tough rocker chic handbags, shoes are also getting a dose of studs, grommets, zippers and all out toughness. Boots are at the forefront this time around; they range from cute ankle booties to thigh-high versions and everything in between. Not to be out done, the heels are getting dolled up with zippers, studs and other fab details.

Where to Get Real Vintage Sunglasses

I found these vintage Dior Retro Rounds sunglasses at Barneys New York and noticed that they were made by brand Retrosun. How are vintage Diors made by a different brand? Retrosun was started by Nicole Miller in 2005 after she discovered a warehouse filled with backstock of authentic vintage designer sunglasses. Now the brand finds designers’ stock from around the world and sells gorgeous vintage sunglasses from the 1970s and 1980s.
I am loving all of the vintage-inspired sunglass styles that are popular this summer, but it would be even more amazing to get my hands on the real piece of …read more
Patterned Sunglasses for Summer

I am loving the patterned acetate sunglasses that are popping up for summer. This expands on the idea of the colored frames and takes it further with multi-colored patterns on the frames. I posted recently about the Badgley Mischka Couture Eyewear in colorful floral patterns that were based on swimsuit fabrics, but now I am seeing other designers with patterned frames as well.
Badgley Mischka Euphoria in Orange $325
Bitty Bloom Sunglasses at Anthropologie $24
Dior 60’s Sunglasses in Panther at Saks Fifth Avenue $290
UO Floral Sunglasses at Urban Outfitters $9.99 (reg. $20)
Gaudy But Glam Sunglasses of the Weekend

A few weekends ago I was out in the sun with some friends, but I forgot my sunglasses in my car (that happened to be back at home). I made a mad dash for the nearest store that had sunglasses with some friends to find some good (and cheap sunglasses) for the day.
I ended up picking up some fabulous $12 orange sunglasses that now are permanently attached to my face during the drive home. These glasses are fun, they’re gaudy, glitzy, and glam, but not the type that I usually pick up. I’m usually that girl that gets the black …read more
