Taking time to find some local Aussie indie designers has brought me to pull up the clothing designs of this promising talent, Pamela Tang. I love the simplicity and artistic feel of her creations.

Take for example this adorable Knee Length Linen Dress in Mustard —

KNEE LENGTH LINEN DRESS, Pamela Tang | Indie Style File, Indie Fashion

This loose fitting, slightly a-line dress can be worn in any season. Great with jeans, pants or a-line skirts, with a fitted 3/4 or long sleeve skivvy. Otherwise worn alone as a dress. The front has a centre pleat, the back has one fix strap. Both sides feature contrast embroidery details. Freyed edges and uncut threads are intentional. Pls note, embroidery details will vary slightly as each piece is individually hand sewn. Slips over the head, easy to wear. All seams are double stitched and overlocked. (serged)

Emily Ruf Dress by Irene Pineda

Sasha 04.10.08

Just a photo snapped last year of me wearing a dress by a local (Philippine) indie designer Irene Pineda. She runs an online shop over at Multiply called Irene’s Closet and used to have a shop at the Archeology Wing of the Power Plant Mall located in Rockwell, Makati City. I reckon she know has a shop along Jupiter Street also in Makati City.

I love the tiered ruffled dress with paisley print in pink and purple crossover straps. It actually has the right length. Looks very dainty and feminine. I only wore it once before I handed it over to my sister as a gift. I hope she likes it as much as I do. It’s one of the dresses I like cuz it’s one of a kind, something you can often expect if you’re into the whole indie fashion scene. It almost feel like you own couture!

More info on the outfit can be found over at Style Manila: Emily Ruf Dress

Black Dress with Teal Flowers Screenprint by Angel D’Amico

Black Dress with Teal Flowers Screenprint, AD LOVE | Indie Style File, Indie Fashion

I’ve been crushing on dresses with designs concentrated on one particular portion of the piece. I actually almost bought a ruched strapless dress with a large flower embroidery located near the hem but I was looking for something more formal at that time so I had to pass. Seeing this dress by Angel D’Amico of AD LOVE made me think of that dress design again.

Black Dress with Teal Flowers Screenprint, $35

Not particularly fond of Teal but this dress is still adorable. I reckon it’s a great everyday dress. I wonder how this would look like with a different colour combination? White dress and matte gold print perhaps?

Twirl Me Dress in Heather LULU | Indie Style File, Indie Fashion

My friends know (and those who read my blogs on style and street fashion) that I love dresses. I wouldn’t matter if I’d spend $$$ on one and go vintage for the next or spot one in one of the flea markets I’d visit. What’s important is it has all the right elements that would cause me to pull out my wallet and take out the cash.

When I came across Lulu’s and spotting this Twirl Me Dress in Heather, I reckon spending $79 would be worth it.

A gorgeous bow with pleating borders the bustline and extends around the back. Dress is cut at the center of the bustline with shimmery ruffles extending down for a wrap-around appearance. Stunning 8″ ruffled hem borders dress for an elegant touch. Flouncing friendly and sexy, this strapless beauty is ready for a spin on the dance floor. Dress is fully lined and has a side zipper.

Lovely, lovely!

I’d certainly let this dress twirl me indeed!

I like the simplicity of this dress.

It’s got a drop waist which is great for anyone (like me) who is not so confident about their tummy.

It’s a t-shirt dress, but better.

$40

8-5 sexy halter dress.jpg

August is a warm time of year for just about all of the US. Now is about the time that the humidity hits and we’re all reaching for shorts, tank tops and tiny dresses.

If you’ve got somewhere to go, I’d get this pretty halter dress from Graziolin. I love how all the colors wrap around in a tiny mini. There’s a bandeau that you get to wear underneath and a totally plunging neckline.

The best part of this dress is the amazing price.

$45

she’s back: christine haynes’ gallery dress

You may not recognize Christine Haynes, but she’s the mind behind Twospace, a label I have featured a time or two before.

She’s relaunched the label under her own name and none of the design has been lost.

I like the simple Gallery dress. It’s striped, which reminds me of all the nautical stuff that keeps coming back in fashion. There’s a pretty criss-cross back to add a little spice to the dress too.

Extra-small to large, $160.

image: Trashy Diva

SInce we all found out the terrible news about indies getting copied, I thought I’d tip my hat to Trashy Diva.

She’s one of the designers putting up a fight against a web boutique (I’d name it, but I’d rather not give it any publicity) that is copying the gorgeous dress you see above.

The Trixie Dress is Trashy Diva’s pride and joy and it’s a dress that she’s spent ages on perfecting. This is the second full version of this dress and it’s only gotten better.

Best of all, you can get this dress at a great price, $34. It’s cheap and it’ll help this designer fight a good cause. Plus, it’s a gorgeous dress that is available in a number of pretty retro prints!

Sizes Extra small to large.

7-6 shrinkle dress.jpg

Got some guts and need a killer party dress?

I’m in love with this Shrinkle dress. I have absolutely no where to wear it, but I like the girly heart print plus the sexy lace insets.

In my former life I was a little Goth, so I feel like this is something I would love deep down. The bodice is exquisite and really, the whole thing is just impeccably made.

$145. Size medium to large
