Paper Doll Dress by Tina TeaSpoon

I wish I lived in a world of costume balls, where opium-inebriated revelers wandered through green labyrinths wearing costumes like this Paper Doll dress by Tina Teaspoon.

Given the $2,000 price tag, this dress is basically fantasyland for me, but what a fantasy it is. I can imagine a million ways of styling this dress, each more bizarre and delicate than the next. For a costume, I would paint my whole body white (the kind of paint that cracks) and wear white contacts and sweet little white mary janes. But it would also make a rockin’ party dress for non-costume occasions. …read more

L.A. Tunic by Desira Pesta

Oh, Desira, why do you always hit me where it hurts? Right in the “I’m broke, but I want that” center of my being. How did you know that I’m totally obsessed with purple, florals, silks, and drapey, amorphous things? Am I so transparent? Maybe, but check it:

The simple gathered style means that this blouse can be worn a number of ways. Me? I’m thinking of it tucked into a short, high-waisted tulip skirt with granny boots and sixty-five strands of silver chains. But there’s also a skirt that goes with it, and it’s available as a set. Which makes …read more

Milly Fall Bubble Dress

It took me some time to come around to bubble dresses. Last summer some friends and I were bored so we decided to go window shopping. After gawking at luxurious handbags and shoes we ran in to Macy’s and picked out some dresses that were ridiculously trendy that we wouldn’t be caught dead in. One of those dresses was the bubble dress.  We took up all of the rooms in the dressing area and on the count of three we showed off our horrible dresses and snapped a picture for our cell phone wallpapers. I believe those dresses hit the …read more

Color Block Body Con Dress by NoeD

If I had to make a list of random things that are hot for fall, it would look something like this: black mesh, stretch fabrics, body con designs, and nude/blush colors. Every single element on that list is represented in this one article of clothing, which makes me completely surprised that it hasn’t sold already. There’s only one, people, but it’s a doozy.
Hot hot hot. For reals, I would snatch this baby up in a heartbeat if it was my size. I am nuts for the colorblocked design in mesh, and black and nude stretch jersey. It’s short. It’s tight. …read more

Silk Ruched Rivet Dress by Geren Ford

There’s basically nothing sexier than a little wisp of a black silk dress. And even better if that dress has a little bad girl vibe. And if it’s made by Geren Ford, well even better. You can always count on the line’s cool, calm, and asymmetrical quality.
I love the ruching that goes all the way down the middle of the dress, and the rivet detail holding it all together. This dress is part pure feminine fun with a rock-n-roll touch that makes it pretty unforgettable. I’d wear it now with gladiator heels, and with leggings and boots in the fall. …read more

The Baylor Dress by NYC Boutique

Pssst. You wanna hear a secret? The 90’s are back. Yeah, I don’t know how it happened, either, I thought I was never going to escape from Stone Temple Pilots the first time around. But alas, the time has come for fashion to recycle itself, and let’s face it, the 80’s had a nice long run for the second time around. Think bodycon. Think black mesh. Think stretch lace. Think black combat boots with mini skirts. Okay, I think we’re on the same page.
Forget about how this dress is styled. You’re going to wear it with Doc Martens and a …read more

Mom Style: Etsy Style

By Guest Blogger Teresa Louise Johnson
I frequent the website etsy.com because I like to support the efforts of crafters and work-at-home-mothers. If I’m going to spend money on clothing, it might as well be original and beautifully made. My clothing, however, must be easy to throw on and easy to pair with other things from my closet. I just don’t have time for fussing (trust me, I found out the hard way—screaming baby, hungry preschooler, half-dressed mommy? Not a great situation!) I’ve discovered three items that just might satisfy those needs.
With its easy waist and brown herringbone linen, this dress …read more

Perfect Plus Dress in Jr. XXXL

We’ve talked a lot about junior fashion in plus sizes after Faith 21 came out, and I thought you might want to take a look at this amazing lace-back dress I found at Alloy, in sizes up to XXXL.
This floral lace back dress is short and flirty, and available in both black and teal. Unusual for me, I love it in that teal color, because the edges of the lace back look great against the main body of the dress in that particular shade.
At first, I imagined that this Plus Dress in XXXL would have a somewhat shapeless front, …read more

If You Are 24W, Read This

Marked down from $90 to $54, this Jessica Howard dress from Dillard’s is a true winner. I was particularly impressed when I found out that the belt is included, because I hate it when I see something styled up so nicely, but with none of the trimmings available for purchase.
This sleeveless dress in tan and white has a deep v-neck surplice neckline and a wider, khaki skirt that’s gentle on the hips. Wouldn’t you love to slip on a pair of brown heels to match that belt, fluff your hair, and toss on a pair of tortoiseshell frames for outdoor …read more
