It’s been said that there’s a lipstick index in the economic climate – red is seen more during times of downturn.
I’ve also heard skirt length is influenced by how the economy is doing.
Apparently, it’s because we women are just that sensitive to what is going on around us, it influences every aspect of our being if there’s less money in the bank and jobs on the horizon. Makes sense. We carry the weight of the world on our slender shoulders!

Mexico City Fashion Week: A Total Bust!

What a bust! Mexico City’s Fashion Week this year was shorter then expected this year; opening on Tuesday and closing on Thursday. But why? Fashion just cannot take a backseat to the world around us!
Can we blame the worldwide flu pandemic known as the Swine Flu? Or the worsening economy that has finally trickled it’s way down to my friends just a few hours south of San Antonio?

The economy may be falling, but that doesn’t meant that you have to sacrifice your luxury fashion tastes. One of the best ways to keep track of sales and to save money on luxury fashion to subscribe to your favorite stores e-mails and twitter accounts. They update them constantly. Some evenings, when I return from work I will have nearly 10 e-mails from from stores and only one or 2 e-mails from real people. Maybe that speaks to my use of social media instead of e-mail, but nonetheless, it keeps me updated!
