Farouk CHI Original Ceramic Ionic Flat Iron is getting  really good reviews among customers. Star from Glamour Gift Guide told me about it after a friend of hers gave it high marks so I decided to see that the fuss is all about. From the Overstock website, Farouk CHI Original Ceramic Ionic Flat Iron received 4.8 out of 5 stars from 597 people out of of 617 that has shared their reviews.

GKay Facial In A Box received high marks from the beauty testers at ELLE magazine on their November issue. It is supposedly an equivalent to a high-end Manhattan facial. First and foremost, the GKay Facial In A Box costs about $275. That’s on sale. The original retail price is $325.

MaxiGlide Hair Straightener

Over the past few months, my teacher over at makeup school made sure we curled lashes perfectly. Over the past few weeks, I’ve been trying and looking for that perfect technique to achieve such. The lashes are not just curled once – near the roots, they must also be curled mid-way and by the tip, which is quite tricky. But I swear, Artemis Woman Double Curl Heated Eyelash Curler just makes a makeup artist’s life so darn easy now.

Double Curl curls lashes at the base of the eyelid creating a more wide-eyed effect. Then it makes a second curl at the lash tip, creating a bigger, bolder and truly dramatic eyelash result.

I was able to try this and all I could say is WOW. It’s very very easy to use, you just have to turn it on, curl your lashes like you normally will, and the only difference is that there is a blue “second curler” that will curl near the tip of the lashes that will give us the wide-eyed effect. I swear, this is magazine-spread quality curled lashes. My lashes were curled to absolute perfection when I used this, and with it being a heated eyelash curler, it also helps for those who have trouble with their eyelashes staying curled all day ( those with poker straight lashes like me ).

The price is at $24.99 – not really cheap, but definitely definitely worth it. I’m looking at purchasing another unit to use for my clients, because this first unit is definitely MINE for personal use!

Beauty Gizmo Review: Artemis Woman Double Curl Heated Eyelash Curler

Recently, I have grabbed hold of this major beauty gadget. From the box, til I opened it, I still could not believe that I am going to try a tourmaline hair iron – because in my lifetime, I would like to think that I have progressed with the evolution of the hair iron ( at least, within my generation! ). I’ve used the hair iron when it was at its rawest state – loved it til I saw my hair get damaged. Upgraded to ceramic hair iron and felt the benefits and progress, that it did not damage my hair, but my hair frizzed horribly when I used it damp. Now, the best right now is the tourmaline hair iron – which promises no frizz, silky shiny hair, even to be used when wet!

I was almost to test it right now but suddenly, I’m having voltage issues. I plugged the 120v beauty gadget at my 220v plug, and the base of the hair iron heated, and there was blinking on the On button, but the plates would not heat up – meaning I NEED AN ADAPTER!!!

Sigh, I better go shopping next week for one. I am just DYING to try this baby out!

Wow, Clarisonic’s sales sure seem to be really good, for they have come up with another limited gray edition!

What a stunning way to clean your face with this really elegant gray color of the Clarisonic.

Clarisonic Face Brush in Gray

I’ve told myself that I’m not using the hair iron on wet hair because I’ve tried it one time and my hair frizzed like crazy. I’m thinking , why are there wet to dry straightening irons around, and would they make the difference as compared to normal hair irons?

The T3 Wet to Dry Flat Iron caught my fancy as I browsed thru Misikko, an online store that offers marked down prices of hair irons ( and their selections are just alot! ). T3 like the Denman of hair irons, with its price way up there, and well known for quality. As for quality, I have yet to try it out but I will very very soon, as I am waiting for my very first T3 hair iron.

My questions include,

1. Would the Wet to Dry Straightening Iron fare better than the normal ceramic iron, or the tourmaline hair iron?

2. Would my hair remain frizz free if I decide to use this on damp hair?

3. Is tourmaline technology really all that?

I still do not have thoughts of using the hair iron on really wet hair, so my very thick hair would still have to be air dried before I use it. I’m expecting really great results, and my hopes are up that I’d be able to do good with the T3 Tourmaline Wet to Dry Straight Iron because I’m about this close to having my hair digitally permed anytime if I am not successful with it. What’s keeping me from doing that is also the 1″ plate that can also help me curl my hair! Now, that, I’d love to try.

T3 Tourmaline Wet to Dry Flat Iron

I’ve never been more obsessed with details until now – specially that I’m in makeup school. Even our instructor stressed that there is a technique for curling the eyelashes perfectly. One thing that I have been stressed about is the mascara – I don’t like it clumping, as I have seen photographic beauty shots that have such perfectly curled lashes with corresponding perfect mascara application.

I have received the Spinlash Spinning Mascara for a review , and I was impressed with the packaging – I had to cut the thick sheet of plastic to get to the product, and there was a mascara wand that rotates 360 degrees with two turns ( up , and down ) push buttons, and there was a separate mascara that you can use your “spinner” with. I opted not to use the mascara for now because my skin is horribly oily, and I could not afford to use any mascara than my Blinc Kiss Me Mascara ( for now ) that stays all day on me without smudging even by a bit.

The Spinlash Spinning Mascara is battery operated, and it rotates both ways as you like it. The instructions were, if you were to use another mascara, right after applying, use the Spinlash gadget to help your lashes de-clump and look all separated and beautifully lush. The first time I’ve tried spinning this gadget, it was in moderate speed – nothing too fast. As I applied mascara on my eyelashes, I took SpinLash for a “spin.” It was sure that it de-clumped my lashes but my poker-straight endangered-to-get-pulled down lashes were going down. I don’t know if I did not curl my eyelashes enough that it started to get “pulled” down as the Spinlash started declumping my lashes. But I sure did see the action in which it declumped my eyelashes, alright.

Overall, it’s an just-okay gadget but I think I should try to experiment with it more to make it work better for me. A number of beauty bloggers have expressed satisfaction over this tool, and maybe I just haven’t used it the right way.

Beauty Gizmo Review : Spinlash Spinning Mascara

With all the moving and everything, I’ve kept my Clarisonic in one of the boxes that I somehow kept on looking for the past few weeks now, and just last week, I was able to reunite with my Clarisonic Face Brush again. Smelling some weariness of the old brush head, I guess it was time to change my brush head into a new one. ( and the next one I should buy already! haha! ). I have no qualms using the Clarisonic Face Brush. I can’t quite claim that it kills my zits goodbye or it reduces my pore size – but what I know so far is that it cleans my skin quite well!

I’m still testing it for another month to see if my pores would really tighten! stay tuned!
