I have always wanted to understand a little more about aromatherapy, so I was excited to get the chance to try Enessa’s line of organic aromatherapy skin care products. Aromatherapy is the art of using essential oils to enhance health, beauty and psychological well-being. Essential oils are the concentrated extracts from plants, flowers, and herbs with unique scents that have an effect on mood and health. If you have ever had an aromatherapy massage, you will remember the way that the distinct scents were used throughout the session to evoke specific feelings of relaxation.

I have one of those little fragrance oil burners that I use to heat scented oil. As the oil heats, it releases it’s fragrance in the house. The scent is strong and it quickly makes me whole house smell beautiful. Unfortunately, I am limited by the choices offered in the stores and the little bottles of oil can get pricey.

So, before we get into recipes and ingredients, let’s talk about how you’re going to store all this stuff you make and where to source your green ingredients.
Think about going as green with your packaging as you are by making your own beauty products. Sustainable glass jars – which you can get from second hand stores, eBay or sometimes even Ikea – not only look beautiful in your bathroom, but they’re …read more
Essential Oil Combinations To Soothe and Invigorate

I love baths and I regularly make my own bath salts. A reader asked for additional essential oil combinations. Essential oils can be pricey, so I usually stick to either Lavender because it relaxes me or Eucalyptus because my family finds it helpful during cold and flu season. It’s very soothing when you inhale the scented steam. Here are a few combos, I’ll add more later, that you can use with the above mentioned bath salt recipe that you can find here. The numbers signify how many drops to add to the salt. You add the oil a drop at a time, …read more
