A Nautical Side of Torrid

While I wouldn’t exactly style my top like this one with these dark jeans (black pants?), I think that this one has fantastic potential for cuteness. It’s just sweet, and would look nice paired with some eye-possing colors! In addition, this top is a little longer for those who said that many Torrid items are a little on the shorter torso side. Check it out.

Plus Custom Couture: eShakti
I can’t believe that I just learned about this now. . . it’s called eShakti, and it’s a similar scheme to the Etsy designed pieces, but it’s much better organized. This cotton top was one of my very favorites, with a pleated front and interesting, crafty medallions that run along both the neck and hem. Standard sizing will cost you less, and is available up to 3X. Considering the level of coolness of this particular piece $44.95 seems very low indeed. Yay!
Buy: $44.95
What I’m Reading This Weekend
* The List Maven explains where she ran off to. Thank goodness! [The List Maven]
* The Roberto Cavalli Cuff Bracelet looks weirdly not-expensive, and it fascinates me. Too bad it is, and priced at $550! [The Latest Luxe]
* Indie Style File shows off Asian fashion, and I love it. [ISF]
* P.S., Preparation H is not for the eyes. Thank you. [Manscaping 101]
* Learn to clean suede shoes! I needed this. [Shoe Blitz]
Svoboda Style Jeans
I love these jeans, and I know they’d work so well for a woman with the type of body that’s flatter in profile than from the front. If you like to add a little “oomph” to your backside or make it look a little higher and more lifted, these jeans might be the right ones for you! Dark denim is always figure-friendly, too.
Check them out at Svoboda Style, where they’re $128.00.
Sambucca Chantal Crepe Dress
This amazing dress is on sale for $29.99 from Avenue– an amazing deal by any standard! A soft wrap neckline flatters your figure without totally cinching your waist too much. Whether you’re an apple shape or a perfect hourglass, this dress is perfect for work-to-evening occasions as well as little night to-dos. I’d love to see it with a beaded wrap and a pair of low heels, or just an upswept ‘do.
Looking for similar dresses? Get a look at some of the most shapely pieces over at Avenue.com– I also love the Brown Halley Wrap Dress.
Going Green: Cool Tops from Kiyonna
(Kiyonna Center Gathered Top, $59.99; Modal Scoopneck Top with Flirty Ties, $52.50; Solid Banded Empire Dress, $46.00; Vintage Aqua Print Wrap Dress, $116.00!)
There’s so much in the way of fun spring colors over at Kiyonna, but my top favorite is green. It’s bright, springy, and I miss it. If you’re looking for ways to brighten up your jeans left over from colder weather, I recommend a top with a little feminine lace or floral trim like these. Even if you’re not a “Dress Person” per se, you’ll find that you’ll have an urge to slip one on from time …read more
Fun Saturday Read: Chic Today
I always try to read through some blogs or at least page through some of my favorite sites on the weekend. This time, I found a great site that may not be full-figured in focus, but is a great read for fashion/lifestyle/culture divas who love a good e-zine. (Me!)
What do I love about ChicToday? Well, for one I loved their Kulture2Couture2007 article by Puneeta Singh, which covered emerging African Caribbean designers, and I also loved the article about T-shirt Trends from Rossella Frigerio, with cool graphics and mini interviews with some notable t-shirt kings and queens like Miss Elena Gallen, …read more
Awesome Find: Anna Scholz Silk Kimono
Bright, fun, and totally sexy, this is one piece that I know will look great with all my skinnies, my leggings, and my dark jeans, too. While many plus women want everyone to know that plus pieces don;t have to be colorful and bright, this one’s all right in my book.
Full-Figured Women: Do We Love Our Shoes or What?!
Are most plus women enamored with their shoe and handbag collections?! I feel like we are, and while that’s totally fine with me, I have made a deal with myself to branch out a little. Tonight, I’m rewarding myself with a little shoe shopping. I’m going wild!
Do you like what I found over at Silhouettes? I really need to replace my current flats, which are dying at the insoles, and these ones have just a touch of fancy-fancy which I love. If you prefer heels, take a look at “Pulling Off Colorful Pumps,” which I wrote over at Fabcrush.com. …read more
SWAK Designs Jeans
Obsession alert! I found the exact style I need to buy. I just picked up a vintage dress over at eBay– amazing!!– and I need to grab the pair of mega dark stretch jeans to wear underneath. SWAK Designs is the perfect match for my brand new tunic dress. They’re available in sizes from 1X to 3X, too.
Curious about my new tunic dress? Here it is:
The all-over beaded designs are just gorgeous, and while I will need to take it to the tailor, it’s devastatingly gorgeous. I’m going to wear it with my black suede boots from Evans London.
