Why You Should Be Exfoliating Everyday

If you take good care of your skin, then you probably have an opinion about exfoliating. Aestheticians differ on their preference for brand and ideas about frequency of the use of an exfoliant, but I am here to share my strong stance that you must start exfoliating everyday.
I started visiting a fabulous aesthetician on a regular basis in New York to deal with specific facial skin issues that I was having. If you live in the New York area, I highly recommend Stalina at Haven Spa in Soho. She helped to dispel myths about the need for lots of expensive …read more

The condition of your skin is a big part of making your makeup look its very best. There’s only so much that you can cover up. If your skin is looking dull and damaged from the dry cold, winter weather, get it into shape with an exfoliating cleanser.
One of my favorite product lines is Kate Somerville. Though it’s a little expensive, the high quality products repair, refresh and rejuvenate your skin, leaving it looking and feeling fabulous.

One of the light fragrances that I love for summertime is Bobbi Brown’s “beach.” This wonderful fragrance features notes of sand jasmine, sea spray and mandarin for a fresh scent that is perfect for daytime.
Recently I discovered the Bobbi Brown beach Sandbar. This bar of soap contains sand (yes, actual sand). So it exfoliates your skin, while also cleaning it. But best of all, it has the Bobbi Brown beach scent.
If you love this fragrance, but don’t feel like wearing the actual perfume everyday, this soap is just perfect. It gives you that light, clean smell without being overpowering. Plus …read more
What is Microdermabrasion?

By now, microdermabrasion treatments have become a normal, almost expected, cosmetic procedure everyone should consider – regardless of your skin type or age. So what’s the big deal?
Microdermabrasion removes the very top outer layer of your skin, including the dead cells and dirt particles, leaving your skin smooth and even. Your skin sheds tiny microscopic skin cells all day, and most of the dirt and makeup gets wiped away when you cleanse your face (you are of course doing this twice a day, every day..right?)
As this treatment has increased in popularity, there are now products available to exfoliate at home …read more
Are Facials Worth It?

What does it really take for smooth, flawless skin?
One of your first answers might have been regular facials. If you have ever been to an aesthetician’s office to have your skin cleansed, exfoliated and treated with a facial, you know what a special indulgence this can feel like…and how shiny and “glowing” your skin is when you leave.
However, the real question becomes whether the $150-$200 (or more!) you are spending on each facial, is really worth it.
Catherine Saint Louis tackled the facial question yesterday in the NY Times.
Aestheticians and spas have long promoted such routine facials as required maintenance for …read more
Keep Skin Fresh Looking With Neutrogena Healthy Skin Rejuvenator

I’ve always stressed that it is important to exfoliate the skin at least twice a week to slough off dead skin cells, prevent buildup that could cause potential breakouts, and always reveal fresh, new skin. It’s true, it’s true, it doesn’t feel right not to exfoliate within a week. Regularly exfoliating paves the way for cell renewal, and is also being practiced for anti-aging ( since dead skin cell’s being rid of )
Aside from the “activity” itself, it is also very important to choose a non-abrasive exfoliating scrub that would ensure gentle exfoliation, not the type that would scratch your …read more
