Neutrogena Wave Duo Review

I’m always very curious to try new skin care gadgets, so I was excited to receive a sample of the new Neutrogena Wave Duo.  The first version of the Neutrogena Wave came out last year, but the Duo is new and improved with two cleansing speeds that let you choose gentle or deep-pore cleansing.  I’ve seen this device sitting on the shelves at drugstores and have been wondering just how it works and what it does for the skin…and now I’m here to share my results!

The Neutrogena Wave Duo is a battery-powered massaging and cleansing device that looks kind of …read more

Coconut Bon Bon Ice Cream Sugar Scrub

Exfoliation is essential to getting soft, beautiful skin. Though there are many exfoliating products on the market, sugar and salt scrubs are some of the best. Lately, I have been trying out a variety of sugar scrubs and discovered Dylan’s Candy Bar Coconut Bon Bon Ice Cream Sugar Scrub.
Unlike other scrubs that are really grainy, this one is actually more like a creamy polish. But don’t let the creamy texture fool you. Created with pumice and jojoba beads, this scrub removes dead skin cells and rejuvenates dull, dry skin, revealing soft, silky smooth skin beneath.
One of the best things about …read more

Clinique Sparkle Skin Body Exfoliating Cream

Exfoliation is vital to keep your skin looking its best. Lately, I have been experimenting with a variety of different exfoliating body scrubs. And though most of them work relatively well, some products stand out above the rest such as Clinique Sparkle Skin Body Exfoliating Cream.
This is a grainy scrub that isn’t too harsh, but also not too greasy or oily either. It comes in a jar, so you don’t have to worry about squeezing out the last bit from a tube. Best of all, it’s really effective. Soothing and softening dry, rough skin, this exfoliating cream leaves your skin …read more

LUSH Aqua Mirabilis Body Butter

Never has something so simple and plain looking worked so well for me. When you first see the LUSH Aqua Mirabilis Body Butter, you’d think it was a generic brown soap of some sort. However, it’s one of the best exfoliating, moisturizing body products that I’ve tried in a while.
Using ground almond shells to slough away dead skin cells, along with cocoa and almond butters to hydrate and nourish your skin, this bar is ideal. It has a soft rose and sandalwood scent that is pleasant without being overpowering.
Rub the body butter bar in a circular motion all over your …read more

Dermafile Exfoliating Tool

Exfoliating has been recognized by aestheticians as one of the most important steps in a regular skin care routine.  Proper exfoliation removes dead skin cells and polishes skin to keep it smooth and free from fine lines.  Licensed aesthetician Leslie Lind developed an exfoliating tool for use at home that uses surgical grade stainless steel and finely crushed cosmetic diamonds.

The Dermafile tool seems simple enough to use and looks a little like the mirror that the dentist uses to see the backs of your teeth.  You apply your regular facewash and then use the circular diamond-covered plate to rub your …read more

Olive Oil and Sugar Foot Scrub

If you have dry, cracked heels, it’s time to get them in sandal shape and quick! You need to exfoliate your feet regularly with a foot scrub and then use a deep moisturizing cream to get soft, silky skin.
In this video, they show how to make a homemade foot scrub using olive oil and sugar. The sugar is, of course, an excellent natural exofliant, while the olive oil has hydrating properties.

Another easy homemade foot scrub can be made by combining eggs and salt.  Beat two eggs lightly, then add just enough salt to get the scrub to the texture you …read more

Top 10 Exfoliation Tips

Nothing will make your skin look more dull than slacking on regular exfoliation. While you can’t see the accumulation of dead skin cells with the naked eye, it’s there – and you won’t be feeling ready for bikini weather if you don’t do something about it.

Wash your hands first so you remove any bacteria on your hands.
Always make sure the exfoliation products you are using on your face are specially formulated for your face.
Take into consideration the type of skin you have – everyone has different needs, but you won’t be doing yourself any favors if you have dry skin …read more

Review: Winterberry Scrub & Lotion

Even though Christmas is over, the weather outside is still frightful enough to dry out your skin, making it flaky, itchy and just plain uncomfortable, but of all of the lotions and scrubs I’ve tried recently, my new favorite is the CND (Creative Nail Design) Winterberry line.
Originally intended as a Holiday 2008 promotion, CND has extended the availability of this gorgeously scented set. It’s a difficult scent to describe – quite round, soft and almost full – like a good berry wine.
The lotion itself is quickly absorbed into your skin, leaving behind a delicate fragrance and no excess moisture. My …read more
