Eyelash Curler

Here’s a simple how to use an eyelash curler tutorial for beginners out there.

First thing first, make sure you do your face and eye makeup before doing anything else. AND, apply a coat of mascara on the eyelashes.

Then with your eyes halfway closed, hold your eyelash curler upfront, the curve facing outward, then open it.

Place your lashes in the opening, squeeze tight for 15-20 seconds. Just hold and certainly do NOT pull.

Release your squeeze after 15-20 seconds, open, then remove from the eyelashes. Repeat the process on the second eye.

When I have time, I usually apply another coat of mascara on each eyelashes after curling each eyelashes. Some Women who use eyelash curler usually apply the mascara after curling the lashes. I do otherwise and then just apply another coat. I guess whichever is more comfortable for you. It takes a bit of practice but don’t be afraid and don’t give up.

The size of the Sephora mini heated eyelash curler is definitely travel friendly. I’m just not sure how it would bode with airport security judging by the shape of it. I guess it would be more sensible if you’re driving yourself to your destination. It’s affordable too by the way. $12 is not too shabby.

Sephora Mini Heated Eyelash Curler

When I found the Model In A Bottle Matte Finish Makeup Spray the other day, I also found this Eyelash Curler from the MIAB products lineup. Compare to the Women Artemis Double Eyelash Curler, the MIAB Eyelash curler is smaller and compact. It will fit in any makeup bag so it’s a very travel friendly kind of lash gadget. It’s cute. no? It looks like it’s easy to handle as well.

This MIAB Eyelash curler is $9 and it comes with a replacement pad.

Model In A Bottle Eyelash Curler

Over the past few months, my teacher over at makeup school made sure we curled lashes perfectly. Over the past few weeks, I’ve been trying and looking for that perfect technique to achieve such. The lashes are not just curled once – near the roots, they must also be curled mid-way and by the tip, which is quite tricky. But I swear, Artemis Woman Double Curl Heated Eyelash Curler just makes a makeup artist’s life so darn easy now.

Double Curl curls lashes at the base of the eyelid creating a more wide-eyed effect. Then it makes a second curl at the lash tip, creating a bigger, bolder and truly dramatic eyelash result.

I was able to try this and all I could say is WOW. It’s very very easy to use, you just have to turn it on, curl your lashes like you normally will, and the only difference is that there is a blue “second curler” that will curl near the tip of the lashes that will give us the wide-eyed effect. I swear, this is magazine-spread quality curled lashes. My lashes were curled to absolute perfection when I used this, and with it being a heated eyelash curler, it also helps for those who have trouble with their eyelashes staying curled all day ( those with poker straight lashes like me ).

The price is at $24.99 – not really cheap, but definitely definitely worth it. I’m looking at purchasing another unit to use for my clients, because this first unit is definitely MINE for personal use!

Beauty Gizmo Review: Artemis Woman Double Curl Heated Eyelash Curler

I’ve been immersed in alot of MAC things because my teacher in makeup school is a certified MAC Makeup Artist. I think I’ve been hanging out at their booth so much that I’ve been checking all the products that they have to offer.

A friend of mine suggested me to try the MAC Eyelash Curler. It’s not too expensive, priced at $12.50 ( USD ), and she claims that it’s a great buy because it curls as good as the cult favorites and a good advantage of it is that it doesn’t “pinch” the lashes, and is very comfortable to use.

I’ve been using the eyelash curler alot recently as it is a very important part of makeup application. It opens up the eyes, and it certainly brightens up the face. I’m seeking to try the MAC Eyelash Curler as a part of my makeup stash to use on my future clients. Yipee!

MAC Eyelash Curler

So, one day, I finally found an old hair blower, and tried “heating” my eyelash curler. Well, let’s just say that I learned my lesson the hard way, thank God I’m still in one piece! No, no, nothing serious happened. Haha.

Anyway, here are my three tips from my experience

1. Heat the eyelash curler no more than three seconds.
You don’t want a very very very very steaming, heated eyelash curler to fry your lashes, do you?
2. Let it cool down a bit – maybe wait for it to be just a bit more than warm, but tolerable.
3. If your lashes are short, don’t do it the usual way in such that you curl your lashes near the roots of your lashes. Again, wait for the curler to cool down a bit – maybe blow some air to it, and carefully curl – not too close.

In fairness, it sure worked for me! My “curled” lashes held for the rest of the day, and I shall be doing this more often! I hope this helped!

It’s always been an eternal battle between the two greatest eyelash curlers -Shu Uemura, and Shiseido.

This is just a great, travel-friendly mini-size of the famed Shiseido eyelash curler that just fits perfectly on your purse or travel makeup kit to save on space. Just in perfect timing, I was complaining on how “full” my overnite makeup bag was last weekend because of the eyelash curler. Getting this as I have the chance!

The “It” Eyelash Curler , Now in Mini!

A number of women that I’ve talked to have told me how hopeless they felt with the traditional eyelash curler. Their lashes are rebelliously straight – no matter how much pressure they use on pressing the eyelash curler on their lashes ( drat, please do not do that and it’d be an early demise for your lashes! ), their lashes “straighten up” in a matter of seconds. Not very funny.

Curled lashes further open up the eyes and brighten the face. It just makes alot of difference by curling the lashes everyday. But what about the problem that I have addressed?

Well, let’s put it this way. We need some heat. Just like hair blowers heat the hair to perfection, and curling irons use heat to make sure that hair gets curled for the whole day, well, let’s not forget that lashes , are hair, too. So we would be needing a “mini” curling iron for the lashes to help the curl hold for as long as it could, and outdo the traditional eyelash curler.

Say hello to heated eyelash curlers. This is again, one of the great things about technology – it doesn’t forget or ignore the beauty industry *wink*. The picture above is Blinc Kiss Me Heated Eyelash Curler. There are more brands, as affordable as those found in drugstores for about $4, there are also upscale ones like Modelco’s. Almost every heated eyelash curlers are battery operated, as opposed to another way of “heating” the lashes using hair blowers – ugh, I need the courage to do this, but then still wary of the hair blower blasting direct heat on my skin.
