When you’re out and about shopping for clothes for yourself, keep in mind how long they’ll last you. If you’re buying something trendy, buy in moderation and be picky. Always shop and stick to the basics and you’ll have a versatile wardrobe that will look stylish year around no matter what the next new trend is.
One of my wardrobe staples are cardigans. I can’t get enough of them and buy a few every year to add to my collection. Whether they’re simple and solid, cropped or long, knit or woven, wrapped or buttoned – nothing is cozier during …read more
Free People Fingerless Gloves

Is it almost the end of October already? How can it be that Fall is slipping away so quickly? I must wear my Fall clothes and accessories before it gets too cold! My favorite accessory, fingerless gloves, are one of those items that it’s just harder to wear once the weather gets bitterly cold. Yes, it’s nice to have a little finger dexterity, but the tips of your fingers might just fall off if you try to wear these when it’s 10 degrees. (We’ll discuss layering gloves in a few months…)
So my point today is that in order to rock …read more

I love the cooler months of October through March. It gives me time to break in the sweaters and jeans. But, there are always those days when the building I am in (whether it’s an office building or a store) has the heat cranked up to 100 degrees making it feel like the middle of August. It really makes the need for a sweater just…unnecessary. But, if I walk outside to the car or to grab lunch down the street I will feel the chill in the air. So, what in the world are we to do?
Why not put on …read more

One of the best things about cold weather clothing items? Sweaters! What’s better than that? Sweater dresses! I’m not referring to those thick, turtle neck sweater dresses that don’t flatter anyone, I’m talking about the soft, pretty and girly style of sweater dresses.
I came across such a dress whilst I was browsing through Anthropologie and I did a double take. By itself this sweater dress looks a little dowdy and plain but worn with the right accessories, it can look pretty amazing.
One of the details I love about the Soft As A Feather Sweater Dress ($138) is the flowy style …read more

One of Fall’s fashion trends is animal prints. Whether it’s zebra, cheetah or leopard, you’ll see a lot of shoes and accessories with these patterns. Some of you may shy away from purchasing anything animal print but I say, go for it!
One of my top five favourite pair of shoes is my Dolce Vita leopard print heels. Wearing a pair of leopard print heels with a simple outfit can instantly add a bit of playfulness to your look.
Below I pulled together an outfit similar to what I would wear with my animal print heels using items that should be found …read more

You’ve heard the old saying, “Don’t wear white after Labor Day.” Well my dear fashionistas, that old fuddy duddy fashion rule does not hold true any longer! There’s something to be said about a crisp white handbag during the dreary Fall and Winter seasons.
As you know there are different shades of white – off white, ivory, cream, eggshell but a stark white bag looks fresh and new time and time again no matter what the season. A white bag evokes a sort of freshness, like fresh fallen snow. I pulled together a simple yet chic monochromatic outfit …read more

If you’re going to get yourself a new coat this season, make it a colourful one! Sure you can pick up the classic hues of black, khaki, navy or brown but there’s something to be said about a stylish coat in a rich and saturated hue like turquoise, a quirky coat or even one in a beautiful pattern.
This beautiful turquoise Bracing Coat by Tabitha ($218; Anthropologie) is quite lady-like. The slightly belled sleeves and tweed are such a sweet details. The waist of the coat is super flattering as well. The zippered closure is what makes this coat stand out …read more
