Fall is just weeks away, and all of us are getting ready to update our look.

Red hair color will be back with a vengeance. This goes for all tones of red from copper to candy apple red. And you know what they say about the sexiness of redheads…

What else to look out for? She says fringe is very in style. This has a fabulous range, from extremely short, to long and wispy, and the bob is still very stylish, from blunt to shagged.

So many of us women change our clothes with the season, and don’t realize we need to update our hair! What works for summer by the beach does not work for sweaters and trench coats. And while you are buying those new fall makeup shades, doesn’t a bit of hair color just make the most obvious of sense?

I’m super excite that red and fringe are both big this coming season – they are both two of my eternal favorite looks anyhow!

Hot Black Jeans for Fall

Zipped front pockets aren’t my favorite look, but I’m giving them a pass this time after checking out these jeans with a great shape from Ralph Lauren (to size 20W). I have a feeling that the clean back and tidy pockets will be good for a casual office environment when you need to look a little more refined than usual at the workplace (like perhaps in a special meeting?).

The best thing about these trousers, though, is the fact that you can totally wear them out in a pinch. If you need to wear them out to drinks, they’ll be there for you, especially with a top that shows off some cleavage! You can’t go wrong with a pair of quality black pants, and these should last a few seasons if you wash them carefully to avoid greying.

TREND: Natural, Flowy Waves

PERFECT FOR: A date-night

EASY DIY TIP: Rub a quarter sized amount of gel through slightly wet hair. Divide hair into small sections, braid each section. Leave overnight or let braids dry completely, and then unwind. The soft waves will set perfectly.

TREND: Loose Low Side Ponytail

PERFECT FOR: Night on the town

EASY DIY TIP: The “loose” part is not entirely the ponytail itself but the hair on your head should not be pulled as tight as a regular ponytail hairstyle. Grasp the hair in one hand, brush it into a low side ponytail using your hands and secure with a hair-tie. Loosen strands for a romantic but elegant look that can work anywhere. For some added flair, use a medium curling iron to curl the ends of the ponytail.

TREND: Soft, Sexy Bun

PERFECT FOR: Work

EASY DIY TIP: Slightly tease the hair, just enough to create texture. Once the hair is prepped, gently brush it back, leaving you without a part. Place the bun at the nape of the neck – a low bun is always flattering. To hold the bun in place, use a hair-tie or bobbi pins to secure.

TREND: Half Up, Half Down Bouffant

PERFECT FOR: Hanging out at the mall

EASY DIY TIP: Starting at the top of the ear, take both your thumbs and separate hair to create a horizontal part. Once you have your part, take the top half of the hair and begin twisting it while slightly pushing it forward. This will create the bouffant or “bump” at the top of hair. Leave the hair a little messy and secure with a hair-tie or hair-clip.

I love showing off my feet. When everyone in the office leaves I turn up my music really loud, take off my shoes, dance around badly and sing even worse. So, fall is almost a mourning period for me. But, I’ve decided, this fall, to look on the bright side of things. Boots can also be fun!

Think of all the ridiculously tacky socks you can buy..the possibilities are endless! And the styles of boots number almost as high as the the number of tacky socks you can wear with boots.

But, as the luxury fashion writer, I am going to urge all of you to please be careful in your boot purchases! Buying 5-6 pairs of $30 ankle boots and only wearing 2 because the other 4 give you horrible blisters or they just don’t match is just not right. Shoes are meant to be seen not hidden! Walk in them. Run in them. Dance in them. Get blisters. And do this all before going to work or going out on the town.

Instead of buying 5-6 ill fitting boots, buy 2 expensive boots that fit perfectly. Let me show you some that would be a good choice in a variety of styles.

Did I tell you that I tucked my prescription sunglasses into my tank top, they fell out and I stepped on them?? Well, I did and they simply can’t be fixed. And they were the only pair that had the special “Transitions” coating. So, I’m back to wearing the snap on variety with a pair of older glasses. Have you any idea what a pain in the neck that is.

But this pair looks pretty cool. They are a whole lot more fashionable that what I’m wearing at the moment and then can simply be slipped back into their case when you walk into the mall. Where I live, it’s time to bring out the cardigans, but sometimes they’re just not right with what I’m wearing.
