It always surprises me to see women wearing very casual foam flip flops to locations that might normally require a little bit more dressing up.

Yes, they’re comfy, but if you feel the need to wear makeup or do something other than a messy pony tail with your hair, maybe it’s time to change shoes?

And besides, foot specialists aren’t usually big fans of flip flops either…

You have read the title right, it’s an Eco-Chic Portable Flip-Flops. If you don’t believe me, well here is the picture.

Eco-Chic Portable Flip-Flops

It’s actually called PocketFlops. It’s a new eco-chic Earth Line from Floc Designs in celebration of Earth Day 2009. The PocketFlops is a portable flip-flops that folds in half which is perfect for people that are always on the go. You can pack them easily in your bags or it’s matching carrying case.

The new Earth Line of Pocketflops will have designs inspired by birds, trees and even President Barack Obama. The latter design sounds very interesting. All the Pocketflops are made of 95% recycled domestic tires. The carrying cases are made with either 100% PET recycled bottle fabric or 100% organic cotton.

You can purchase PocketFlops online at www.flocdesigns.com for $20. Customization is also available.

At home, everyone is into winter boots or at least running shoes, but not the case down here… obviously. I spent the day at the Carlsbad Outdoor Mall yesterday and everyone seemed to be wearing flip flops… guys and girls. I’m seeing flip flops everywhere!

Yes, I have been to the mall a LOT of times while down here in Florida and absolutely everyone is wearing flip flops and lots of them! Actually I saw a woman yesterday with the most amazing lime sherbet colored flip flops and they matched her tank top perfectly. So, if you are headed somewhere hot and sunny in the coming months, don’t forget the flip flops. You will fit right in. And oh yes, be sure to stock up on lots of bandages until your feet toughen up. Mine are not liking that little thing that goes between the toes… at all!

We don’t pay half as much attention to our feet as we do to our hands and if you want to splash out on expensive sandals this summer, you just might want to take a look at what you have to work with.

It all starts with a foot spa and then lots of TLC… and of course some pretty polish for the toes! So far, red polish seems to be winning out!!

And, I’m suddenly seeing zillions of flip flops where I live. It’s been warm about three days in a row and everyone is more than ready for summer!!
