Kenzo is a company that is always trying something new. They will take one their established fragrances and tweak it, make something new with the addition of notes, all new packaging, etc. It’s one of the reasons that I really enjoy writing about them – there’s always something interesting going on.
A good example is the new Kenzo Power Cologne for men. They started with the original Amber notes of Kenzo Power and followed in the tradition of the early 18th century colognes by opening with fresh, aromatic citrus notes.

I’m writing with a bit of an AVON theme in mind today. I covered mineral makeup at Pretty By Nature, then some clearance products at the Bath and Body section. Now I’ve got a few gift sets for some timely pre-holiday shopping.

While leafing through a Redbook magazine today, I found a fancy-pants fragrance ad from 30 Days of Beauty.com featuring Halle Berry’s scent, Country couple Faith Hill and Tim McGraw’s scents, along with Tom Brady and the Stetson scent.
The ad gives 30 days worth of beauty advice such as:
1. Go natural – and forgo the contrasting lip liner.
15. Dress in complicated pinks – like a “champagne peach.”
22. Buy him something in brown. Masculine – yet warm and comforting.

I tried a couple of CLEAN fragrances today. Both are for men, but one I am keeping for myself. The philosophy behind the CLEAN fragrances is that the scents are fresh and reminiscent of soap, rather than something fussy. Simple.
