Miss Mimi has released a new fragrance called Forever and judging from the description on the Macys website, it sounds like a really nice scent.

Forever ($55-$65) is described as, radiant, glamorous and mesmerizing floral scent.  It combines green apple, gardenias, tuberrose, lotus blossom and neroli with white musk and exotic woods.  This scent is Mariah Carey’s interpretation of old Hollywood glamour.  I do adore the shape and overall look of the bottle, it has really nice structural elements I can appreciate.

Notice the black patent handbag next to it? Well, that bag can be yours, for free, when you purchase the 3.3oz bottle of Forever by Mariah Carey perfume at Macys online and stores. Not a bad deal don’t you think? The bag is pretty cute and black does go with everything.

Be Forever Glamorous with Mariah Carey

The first limited edtion scent under the brand is called Bare Skin.  This scent was created to capture the ultimate beach vacation in a bottle.

The Bare Skin perfume collection includes a 1.7oz Eau de Parfum Spray ($55), a Solid Perfume ($35) and a Scented Body Cream ($30).  It’s described as romantic, spontaneous and warm with florals and musk.  The scent opens up to a spicy blend of black pepper, freesia and anise. At the heart is are the florals; iris, vanilla orchid, plumeria with a dose of patchouli. The dry down is warm sandalwood and musk.

The Bare Skin scent is currently only available to Sephora Beauty Insiders. If you’re not a beauty insider, you should definitely sign up! 10 Corso Como is the boutique of Carla Sozzani based in Milan. The 10 Corso Como Eau de Parfum ($85 – $115) was released in 1999 and it’s quite unique in the way it smells. Upon first spritz you’ll immediately notice a sharp kind of sweet, sort of sour scent but then follows the rose and geranium which tempers the sharpness. The dry down is warm with sandalwood, incense and a bit spicy with vetiver, musk and Malay oud-wood oil.

If you know someone who loves woodsy and spicy perfumes, this might just be the one to get for them. The design of the bottle is simple yet striking with the cool combo of red, black and white. You can purchase 10 Corso Como Eau de Parfum at Neiman Marcus stores and online.

A Unique Scent 10 Corso Como

The Juicy Couture Couture Couture fragrance is described as decadent oriental floral fragrance.  It stars off with the scent of mandarin, orange flower and pink grape accord, then blends into star jasmine, honeysuckle and plum, with a dry down to amber, vanilla and sandalwood.  By the description, it seems as if this will be a very sweet scent, much like the other ones in the line, but a bit lighter.

Naturally, the packaging of the perfume bottle is extravagant and very Juicy Couture, with the gold “J” charms attached to a hot pink zipper ribbon and topped with a gold cap. It’s designed to be shown off on her dressing table, that’s for sure!  The packaging of the perfumed lotion ($45) and body cream ($55) is quite tame in comparison.

L’Heure Magique ($75)  – Translated it means, The Magic Hour; the time just before sunset when the light is just right.  A scent that starts with pikake petals, bergamot and then blends into white roses and pink geraniums with a dry down of sandalwood, amber and cashmere musk. It’s described as a sheer floral oriental with notes of musky woods.

Eau de Lune ($75)  – A floral scent with a touch a romance. It blends white flower petals with mandarin, violets and ylang-ylang. There’s also hints of plumeria (one of my favourites!), amber and musk to give it that sensuous flair.

Neroli ($75)  – Transport her to the Mediterranean with this scent with notes of orange blossoms. The floral and citrus scent is delicate and alluring. This would work very well as a daytime scent.

Minuit Enchanté ($90) Exclusive to Nordstrom, this fragrance was inspired by the deep, darker moments of the night. It smells of  juniper, ginger, and pimento berry at first, then the scent blends into tuberose, rose and jasmine absolue and peach nectar. The dry down is warm with notes of pure vanilla, amber, cedarwood,  sandalwood and agarwood accord. Deep and mysterious this scent is perfect for late night rendezvous!

Sweet Smelling Laura Mercier Scents

Missoni Acqua Eau de Toilette ($60-$80) is  for the woman who is passionate about love, family and life.  The fragrance is a blend of  fresh grapefruit, bergamot, melon and sensual narcisse with muguet, violet, freesia and peony. The dry down is a mixture of Tuscan iris, jasmine and sole.  The bottle is a lovely  translucent green that’s accented with a cabochon cap and the signature multi-coloured zig zag Mission pattern.

Prescriptives Calyx Sheer Exhilaration Eau de Toilette ($39) is exactly what a summer scent should be; fresh, sparkling and exhilarating. This is a limited-edition all-over scent that’s a lighter version of the original Calyx scent.  It has a blend of fruit such as grapefruit, mandarin, mango, passion fruit and guava. The exotic fruit is then paired with florals; freesia, muguet, neroli, rose, lily, jasmine and marigold with base notes of oak moss, sandalwood and vetiver. The pretty yellow-green bottle is etched with the name of the scent and is capped off with a silver top.

Marc Jacobs Rain Splash ($68) is perfect for those hot summer days. This refreshing body spray cools the skin while leaving a light and fresh scent.  It has notes of cut grass, wild strawberry, clementine zest, cypress, tropical rain accord, passion flower, sunshine flower, white orchid, amber, musk, tree moss and teak wood. The bottle is huge at 10oz so it will last a long time even if sprayed liberally.

Estée Lauder Beyond Paradise Blue Eau de Parfum ($50) is a scent that incorporates the color of the sky, water and paradise.  The floral scent is sparkling and cool with a mix of citrus notes, combined with bergamot, Belle de Nuit flower, jasmine, orange flower templar, frangipani, vanilla sands, vanilla absolute, melaleuca bark, sandalwood and finally a dry down of cananga flower, neroli and lavender.

The Limited-Edition L’eau D’Issey Summer ($62) is a floral scent mixed with musk and woody tones.  Florals include lotus, cyclamen, freesia, carnations and fresh white lilies which are combined with amberseed, musk, rose water and osmanthus.    The men’s version,  Limited-Edition L’eau D’Issey Pour Homme Summer ($57), has notes of verbena, tangerine, cypress, yuzu zest, coriander and sage. It’s fresh but warm, spicey and woodsy with an additional mix of lily, nutmeg, saffron, cinnamon bark, amber tobacco, vetiver and sandalwood.  The pretty bottles are clear glass with multi-colour and light grey lettering.  Simple yet stylish bottles to house sweet and complex fragrances.  Pick both of them up at Neiman Marcus.
