Precious Metals & Nature-Inspired Jewelry

Jewelry designer Annette Ferdinandsen uses precious metals like sterling silver and gold to create delicate jewelry pieces that have been inspired by the natural world.
You find some unique elements from the sea and the land in her collection from Ylang 23.  There are maple seeds, coral branches, sea plants and flowers, all interpreted in elegant metals, pearls and semi-precious stones.
Here are a few of my favorite pieces – it was definitely a challenge to narrow it down to just a couple!

Layered Bangle Bracelets from Urban Posh

I think that pretty bangle bracelets are a great summer-time accessory.
You’re wearing lighter clothes, showing off your arms – why not have fun with some lightweight gold bangles?  Especially when they’ve got lovely faceted semi-precious gemstones…

Urban Posh makes these bracelets from 18kt gold vermeil and accents them with faceted amethysts, citrine, London blue topaz, and emerald green hydro quartz. They’d be great paired with your favorite maxi dress, crisp white blouse or dressed up for dinner with a little black dress.

Shimmering Jewelry from Kate Spade

I love Kate Spade’s new line of  “Cortes” jewelry.  It’s made with tiny little gold-plated round paillettes and almost reminds me of something a belly dancer would wear.
There is something so sensual about jewelry that shimmers and moves as you wear it – and with all the little paillettes, this jewelry is guaranteed to do that!

There is a triple-strand necklace, with strands of 24″, 20″ and 16″ lengths.

You can also get a four-strand bracelet, with dozens of teensy little circles.

And to top it off, matching earrings
