Since coming back from our cruise on Sunday, I’m still a bit on “cruise mode” (I miss hanging out at the Lido deck! ).  This of course, has not affected my love for handbags because I thought it would be fun to check out what Gucci had in store for their Cruise Collection.

Milan Fashion Week hit a high note yesterday with Gucci Spring / Summer 2010. Celebs including Mary J Blige sat front row taking in the structured tops and bloomer shorts that graced the runways. Gucci has always been known for very classic and in your face looks, which was no different this season.

Zippers are all over the place this season, and not in the usual places we think of. From the front of coats to the sides of skin to tight blue jeans one could say that zippers are “in” this Fall season. I recently treated myself to a new, very bright pink scarf.  While it is made from a lightweight rayon, there is no reason why I have to pack it away for fall.
Scarves can make great accent pieces for fall, especially if you pick up on the richer colors of the season.  Just because a scarf is light rayon or cotton doesn’t mean you can’t wear it into cooler weather.

I’m still a big fan of oilslick-look patent leather.  Yes, it’s definitely a departure from the standard patent, but I love the unique finish and how it changes under the light.
Gucci has been making some lovely purses with oilslick patent lately, of course – featuring their signature horse bit:

The medium shoulder bag features a permanent handle and removable & adjustable shoulder strap.
