Batiked Anatomical Armwarmers by Lady Lotus

Some Halloween costumes are too good to wear just once. I’m a big fan or borderline items that can do double duty as costumes and, I don’t know, say, armwarmers. Check it.
These batiked arm warmers are so well-made, and dare I say subtle, that you could rock them almost any day. I would, anyways. But they would also make a kickin’ costume. Available for $25 from Lady Lotus.

Boo!
It’s almost Halloween, and in this economy, we aren’t all prepared to blow loads of cash on pricey wigs and hair pieces to complete our costume.
But what if we could do it ourselves, at home? I consulted celebrity hair expert Moulay Yacoubi, who shared some great news: Hot Halloween looks can be recreated with your own hair, at home, easy and cheaply! Here’s some of Moulay’s tips!
For short hair – try the Rihanna look:
1. Use damp unwashed hair, treated with a light mousse.
2. Pull hair from the middle …read more
Paper Doll Dress by Tina TeaSpoon

I wish I lived in a world of costume balls, where opium-inebriated revelers wandered through green labyrinths wearing costumes like this Paper Doll dress by Tina Teaspoon.
Given the $2,000 price tag, this dress is basically fantasyland for me, but what a fantasy it is. I can imagine a million ways of styling this dress, each more bizarre and delicate than the next. For a costume, I would paint my whole body white (the kind of paint that cracks) and wear white contacts and sweet little white mary janes. But it would also make a rockin’ party dress for non-costume occasions. …read more

REAL Scorpion Vial Pendant

Halloween is the best excuse I have all year for buying the creepy jewelry that I love. I am a total sucker for fang, tooth, and bug jewelry, and I am basically totally freaking out over this scorpion on a chain. Check it:
The artist says that this is a wiccan white magic pendant. Yay for good magic, especially when it looks this badass. For halloween, you could wear it with a witch or mad scientist costume, and then all year round with ripped up tees and tall black boots! Available for $45 from Custom Creature.

Remember when I reviewed those fragrances from Smell Bent a couple of weeks ago? Well, I got an email from the company and they’ve got something special available for Halloween – A Bent Halloween Limited Edition Fragrances.
now you see ‘em and now you don’t. these little buggers are elusive. hanging around for a little bit, but never quite long enough for you to get sick of them. it does break our heart that they have to leave. but then again, they say absinthe makes the heart grow fonder. wait, that’s not it … but you get the point.

Are you noticing a Halloween theme around here, lately? Wanna know why? Because it’s like two weeks until the big day, and a lot of people are making it their BIG DAY, so…anyways, check out this goth-tastic short wedding dress by Petticoat Pistol.
I know it’s supposed to look tattered, but I actually think that it looks like a sweet little frock. You could goth it up if you wanted to, but it would also be lovely with a simple wreath and some flats. Available for $175 from Petticoat Pistol.

Candy Ribcage Tee by Apple Noggin

The best thing about Halloween, besides vampires and ghosts and parties, is obviously candy. If you’re not the type to don a real costume, and honestly, I think there’s no excuse for that, then at least get into the spirit with a festive tee.
Yes, this looks a lot like the ubiquitous ribcage tee that all the hipster kids are wearing, except cuter. And brighter. And just in time for Halloween. Available for $25 from Apple Noggin.
