I love all of Eugenia Kim’s hats and hair accessories, but unfortunately I usually can’t afford them. You can check out her collaboration with Urban Outfitters for lower-priced pieces or get the real deal on sale. I recently spotted her gorgeous Hailey Headband on sale at Shopbop!
Eugenia Kim Hailey Headband in Coral $49.50 (reg. $99)
I have been eyeing this knotted silk headband since I first spotted a similar style on Gossip Girl last season. It has multiple soft strands gathered and braided to create a beautiful piece in coral. There is a thick elastic band at the bottom for a …read more

Luxury hair accessories are extremely popular lately, so it’s exciting to find items that are similar to items being sold at high end department stores at one of my favorite affordable retailers…Target! Goody has a limited edition Resort Glamour collection sold exclusively at Target this summer for super low prices. I was lucky enough to receive samples of the products and they are so cute!
The Resort Glamour collection has vibrant colors and patterns inspired by island fashion and vintage designs. All of the pieces have a bright and summery look in shades of pink, turquoise, and yellow.

Jennifer Behr Black Stone Headband

Jennifer Behr is one of the genius hair accessories designers who is responsible for the gorgeous pieces that Blair Waldorf wears on Gossip Girl. She has really re-invented the headband by creating unique pieces that look sophisticated and stylish.
I would love to post about Jennifer Behr’s absolutely beautiful handmade headbands everyday, but at around $200 per piece I realize that unless you have the wealth of a character on Gossip Girl, you probably won’t be stocking up on these. These hair accessories are definitely designed to be paired with elegant outfits for special occasions.

Coach Has New Poppy Line

Coach has a new line that debuted in July called Poppy. Poppy is intended as a budget-friendly line for Coach, with prices staying just slightly below what most Coach products would cost. The prices are barely lower, so I would say that the main difference between the two lines is the use of color. Just like the name suggests, the collection is full of bold saturated colors like fuschia, turquoise, purple, and orange.
Poppy is designed for a younger crowd with rhinestone tiaras, shiny metallics, and tons of saturated colors on everything! This collection is definitely not about subtlety. Even though …read more
Perched Wing Headband at Anthropologie

I was shopping at Anthropologie last weekend and I was trying on all of their different hair accessories to see which ones just look really great in pictures and which ones actually look really great on. My absolute favorite of the styles they had in stock was this beautiful Perched Wing Headband. It is a black headband with a simple silk ruffle asymmetrically adorning one side. The headband comes in black, lilac, and white so I would pick the color that contracts most strikingly with your hair color (pink was best for my dark brown hair).

If you love the flowery headbands that are being spotted everywhere this summer, but are not willing to take the plunge to wear an enormous Carrie-from-Sex-in-the-City bloom in your hair, then these subtle flower headbands at Anthropologie might be just the thing for you. These cute little poppies and pansies come in different colors and add just a tiny little burst of floral to a regular headband. These styles would look great on women of all ages.

Andrea’s Beau Beautiful Headbands

I love discovering designers who are passionate about a very small area of the fashion world. I think that focusing on a specific area allows them to fully explore all of the possibilities and produce a beautiful and unique product.
I recently became acquainted with a wonderful line of handmade hair accessories by Andrea Chafetz called Andrea’s Beau (what a creative name!). Inspired by gorgeous fabrics and hair decorations she saw in different cultures around the world, she created a unique line to explore these ideas. She designs colorful and unique hair accessories for women and young girls. I am most …read more
The Most Comfortable Plastic Headband
April 30, 2009 by Kelli DesRochers

I have always been a wearer of headbands. I’m not as crazy as Blaire on Gossip Girl, but I do own tons in various sizes, shapes, qualities, and colors because I seem to pick up a new one everytime I find myself in the fun hair products aisle at the drugstore. I have soft ones, hard ones, scarf ones, sparkly ones, child-sized ones, and pretty much every other style you can think of. But the basic staple is the thick plastic headband.
On my most recent drugstore excursion, I was delighted to find an innovative new headband design from Goody Ouchless. …read more
Move On From Headwrap Headbands

I don’t usually post about trends that I don’t like. I prefer to stay the optimistic person that I am and focus on the beautiful fashion that I adore instead of dwelling on those trends that should probably be ignored. But there is a need for balance, so I will share a trend that I just wish would go away: headwrap headbands.
These hippie-inspired headbands wrap completely around the top of the hair and across the forehead horizontally like a halo. Not only do I think they are unflattering, but if you ever feel like taking your headband off you will …read more
