Now the Real Shopping Begins!
As much as I love the holidays, there’s nothing like post-Christmas sales and all the incredible deals you will find just about everywhere. This year I’m on the search for basics and those marked-down amazing seasonal pieces, like cashmere sweaters and fun frocks.
Do you remember the best deal you ever got? I definitely do. It was an amazingly soft camel-colroed sweater that was originally $250, and marked down to $30! That was, by far, my best deal: what about yours?
My Personal Wishlist
A Fun Betseyville Bag
Bright, cute, and totally practical: I feel like a kid again! This Betseyville Bag has panache and is colorful enough to jazz up the ridiculous mountain of black I have in my closet.
Missphit’s Vintage Coat
A cool silhouette with wide, cropped arms will look just right when paired with my slimmer skirts and trousers. Imagine how gorgeous it would look with a charcoal pencil skirt or a pair of wool gauchos and boots.
Deep Dark Jeans
The darker, the better: I always feel sexier when I’m wearing it, and it transitions to night perfectly. Despite my semi-issues with these Svoboda …read more
A Little Trip to Evans London: 50% Off!
Evans London is having an amazing sale on coats right now. . . I highly recommend you check out their 50% off pieces right away! My top pick was this Wool Twill Swing Coat for about $60, but there are plenty more deals to be found on their site. I took the liberty of finding my top picks below, but trust me, you’ll be scooping up deal after deal.
Here are my newest coat picks from Evans London.
Little Black Dress to Match My Wrap
I couldn’t just show off a gorgeous wrap without a beautiful dress to follow! Lately I’ve been trying to do the “basics thing,” but it can get frustrating when you’re surrounded by beautiful plus pieces. It seems like every plus shop around has been taking their designer creativity in strides, and that’s so exciting. It’s a perfect time of the year to slip on a soft, flattering dress that’s very possibly festooned with fun sequins and other bits and bobs: a grogeous brooch, a fun sash, a beaded neckline.
That’s why I chose this Ruched Surplice Dress from Kiyonna. . . …read more
I Missed Torrid, So. . .
I went on a tiny bit of a crazy shopping spree and bought something I love! I was paging through their new arrivals when I found. . . this very sexy, slightly impractical, satin trenchcoat that for reasons unknown to me, I covet.
Okay, I do have a red coat obsession. But this one is fantastically vamp and still holiday-minded, and I love it! You can find it over at Torrid for $88 on sale.
Lovely Holiday Dress!
I’m always checking out C.enne.V, one of my favorite sites for sumptuous jersey creations, and today I realized that this amazing colorblocked ankle length dress comes in jet black! Now is this wouldn’t make a gorgeous LBD, I don’t know what would! You can also get it it the colors shown and in green as well.
Check it out!
Fancy Frocks for a Low, Low Price
One of my guilty pleasures is Mimi’s Curvy Corner, which has amazing budget gear for every season. I recently fell in love with this one, shown, which has a great tie-waist and rings in at a friendly $36. Hopefully I’ll be able to take a look at this dress more closely and give you a real run-down!
This Stunning Jet Black Dress is available from 1X to 5X at Mimi’s.
Gorgeous New Dress at Igigi
I’ve found a gorgeous new dress at Igigi: this black and lace number with subtle sex appeal. I’ve always been sort of hesitant about holiday clothes, but this dress looks like it could be a dressier addition to that closet of LBDs you already have!
I definitely recommend this dress, which you can find on Igigi for $150.00. Just one word to the wise: this dress runs one size smaller than standard Igigi sizing, so keep that in mind when ordering.
Igigi Rocks the 2007 Hip Hop Awards
Every time I turn around, Igigi is doing something else that’s exciting, new, and innovative in the plus-sized world. And I’m not surprised, either: they are a superb plus-size fashion label with style, and you know what? You can’t beat Igigi’s quality!
Last night, Igigi dressed two gorgeous plus-size models in their Crown Jewels Velvet Gown in Onyz at the BET Hip Hop Awards 2007, shown. How beautiful is this gown? It’s also available in a rich Ruby or Tanzanite color. It’s going to sell out fast after last night!
Plus-Size Halloween Costumes
Halloween is my absolute favorite holiday, so I thought that I might share with you some very excellent resources for costumes in our sizes. While the Torrid Sailor Costume, shown, is one of my favorites, you’ll find plenty of interesting ones at the links found below:
Plus-Size Costumes at Halloween Mart are a little scattered, but they’re worth it. My favorite? The Mile-High Club Captain costume.
If you want to show off a pair of shapely legs, I recommend checking out these saucy costumes. They may be bordering on naughty lingerie instead of costumes, but that’s part of the …read more
