It’s their jewelry that I’m going to focus on today though.  They carry some fantastic pieces from Scottish designers – in materials as varied as wool, silver and plastic.

Two of the pieces that caught my eye are by Hannah, a jeweler from Edinburgh:

This is her “Charm” necklace, hand cut from sterling silver and accented with pearls.  The necklace features a teeny little Dachshund along with a flower and house.  You can also request a custom dog shape as well.

Her “Scroll” earrings were inspired by the design from a piece of vintage wall paper.  They’re also made from silver, and then oxidized to give the black finish.

I love quirky jewelry and this wool brooch has character in spades!  It’s made by Ediburgh designers INTO out of felted lambswool.

The “White Flowers” shoulder bag is made from faux-leather and accented with hand-made white flowers, accented with metal studs.  It’s from Las Vegas designer, Saleyla.

I just couldn’t resist putting this charming little clutch purse into my picks.  It’s made by Vancouver, British Columbia designers, Dave & Chiyo who create feminine purses and clutches.  This particular clutch purse is made from a sturdy cotton canvas body and accented with a hand-made chiffon flower.

Indie Flower Power

You can get in on the action and vote for your favorite designer in the “best student made”, “best handmade”, “green”, “socially responsible” and more.

The finalists will have a chance a chance to win apprenticeships, sewing machines and even a chance to have their designs produced commercially.

The awards take place in New York city on June 17th at the New York Historical Society.

I find that my choices in jewelry tend to reflect that as well.  That’s probably why today’s choice is the charming little “Forget Me Not” ring created from sterling silver and painted:
