Taking time to find some local Aussie indie designers has brought me to pull up the clothing designs of this promising talent, Pamela Tang. I love the simplicity and artistic feel of her creations.
Take for example this adorable Knee Length Linen Dress in Mustard —
This loose fitting, slightly a-line dress can be worn in any season. Great with jeans, pants or a-line skirts, with a fitted 3/4 or long sleeve skivvy. Otherwise worn alone as a dress. The front has a centre pleat, the back has one fix strap. Both sides feature contrast embroidery details. Freyed edges and uncut threads …read more

I’ve finally found a piece that gives us a taste of some Australian Indie Fashion. It’s an Antique Keys Necklace from Shonah Jewellery Design.
It’s quite simple but it looks adorable. It’s handmade. It’s one of the pieces under the Resin, Fabric & Wood Shape collection.
Shonah pendants are individually handmade, using a blend of her original screen-printed fabrics, patchwork and vintage fabrics. Each beautiful piece is mounted on Tasmanian oak, carefully hand crafted by her father in a quaint country town, furnishing an organic feel to her designs.
I guess if you folks are looking for something that’s pretty unique then …read more

The creations of Celine Cruz under her own label Wanderlust has been on my radar since 2007. I love the details (from rosette appliques to shirred waistlines or asymmetrical necklines) she put in each of her pieces.

I’m 27 years old. I live in QC. I studied interior design in college. After graduating from college, I pursued ID at Parsons School of Design and decided to take fashion merchandising just for fun but I loved it so much that I decided to go back the …read more

“If you are to examine the photo seen above, you’ll find that there’s a distinct accent, which happens to be hand-designed by local artist Vernon Perez (aka Spoonman), that makes the miniskirt unique. The fact that the detail is hand-designed boasts that no two skirt is the same. Fantastic, isn’t it? That is one of the things I like about clothes that aren’t mass-produced. It’s gives me the satisfaction of owning an item that creates the illusion that it’s especially made just for me.” — Sasha Manuel, StyleManila.com

Daniella De Corsie Dress

One of my great indie fashion discoveries is this Daniella De Corsie dress, which I found in a Indie Fashion boutique called F*ART located in the North of Metro Manila. I wore it to an event which took place during Summer (my country) this year (April-ish).
Yes, Daniella is a local indie fashion designer and this particular work of hers IS made of wow.
There was a moment when I had put it on that I had wished to be more fuller, esp around the bust area, to fully maximise the creation. It’s very sensual in its own subtle way. If this …read more
