Hot Black Jeans for Fall

Zipped front pockets aren’t my favorite look, but I’m giving them a pass this time after checking out these jeans with a great shape from Ralph Lauren (to size 20W). I have a feeling that the clean back and tidy pockets will be good for a casual office environment when you need to look a little more refined than usual at the workplace (like perhaps in a special meeting?).
The best thing about these trousers, though, is the fact that you can totally wear them out in a pinch. If you need to wear them out to drinks, they’ll be there …read more
Plus-Size Jeans of the Week

Are you attached to guy-type jeans? These plus-size boyfriend jeans are totally comfy for the weekend, but can easily be worn with heels if you prefer. Available up to 24W, they have a particularly flattering back view complete with a nice dark wash.
I hate searching for jeans, but when I find a brand or two I like, I rejoice! These 5-pocket jeans are pretty easy going and low-maintenance, but since they’re Calvin Klein, you know they aren’t going to be shredding apart like some other brands you may have tried before.
Are you into jeans with a more relaxed fit? I’ve …read more
Would You Wear Brown Skinny Riding Pants?

Since it’s that time when I’m already beginning to dream about fall clothes, I thought I would pose this question: would you wear these brown skinny riding jeans? I found them at The GAP ($70), and I can’t decide whether or not they’d be flattering on those of us who are size 16 or 18, with a generous booty.
If I were to style these brown jeans up, I’d go for a glossy pair of leather boots and a tunic this fall. . . and if I do buy them, I might wear them earlier with a pair of multi-strapped sandals …read more
Taking One for the Team, Denim-Wise

I wasn’t aware that Wet Seal offered such cool plus-size jeans! I used to be afraid of cheaper plus-size jeans, because I thought they wouldn’t look good on me. My favorite pair of jeans are my Target skinnies (and have been for about two years), and I have to say that my $100+ jeans are never worn any more! Perhaps these Wet Seal jeans will be my new Xhilarations? I think I’ll try them out, and then let you know. They are only $29.50.
Have you worn Wet Seal jeans? What did you think?
They are available up to size 24.
Torrid Does Stretch Denim

Torrid does a fantastic job with stretch denim in their featured styles– I fell in love with the skinnies recently, and I can’t wait to pair them with something devastating like a pair of really high platforms and a clutch. Oooh– and maybe a clingy sweater as well!
If you are sick of wearing jeans that are available in limited sizing, the good news is that these go up to Torrid’s extended size 5. At $48, that’s a great deal! Dark jeans always look pricier, no matter what, and finally buying them in the right size can help tremendously. No more …read more
Extended Size Jeans Recommendation

My favorite pair of jeans for the past year has been a pair of overdyed Xhilaration jeans from Target. When I bought them (at a thrift store), I just loved the way they stretched, and I didn’t care where they came from. Now that I looked at the tag, I thought I would spread the word that I have seen them in sizes 15 and 17 (this featured pair goes up to 15), and they are really worth it.
I’m not a person who says “buy jeans from Wal-Mart– no one can tell the difference!” (they can), but these Target jeans …read more
Echo ‘Floral Bouquet’ Silk Scarf

I’m thinking ahead when we will be able to get away with a turtleneck sweater instead of a bulky coat and I think this scarf definitely will take the outfit up a degree. You could match the sweater up with a pair of jeans and the minute you add this scarf, you will start turning heads.
But how about how to care for this scarf. Is it possible to handwash it or is that strictly a no-no? So, I went looking.
I found some really good advice here and here. So we now have our scarves and our lingerie… covered!

Pair These Clogs With Jeans

There was a time when I liked heels with jeans, but lately, I’ve been drawn to styles more like this. I don’t know when it happened. Maybe it was watching other women at the malls teetering on heels and not looking all that comfortable. Who knows, but I kind of like the look of these, especially the black ones. I can’t stand to be uncomfortable when putting in a day at the mall and there looks to be lots of wiggle room for my toes. I sometimes think my feet hate me!

Sprucing Up a Plain White Blouse and a Pair of Jeans

You hear all the time that we are supposed to have zillions of white blouse because they are so versatile and you can change the look of so many outfits… even a pair of jeans.
Well, that might be true, but sometimes the outfit needs a bit more to prevent boredom from setting in. That’s where accessories come in rather handy. First I will start off with the handbag. And yes, I’m giving you that little push to go out and get one.
So You Like the Shoes…

But do you have anything to wear with these shoes? One of the biggest mistakes women make is to go shopping for shoes… in a pair of jeans. It might save you a lot of time if you wear the outfit in question and then match the shoes to the outfit. Take the red shoes for example. What if they look great in the store, but you get them home and the red is the wrong shade? It happens all the time.
