This one is a bit of a change from the rest of the week – after all, I’ve been focusing on classic pieces since Monday

Pearls can range from the surprisingly inexpensive (domestic fresh-water pearls) to the my-house-costs-less-than-that necklace category – luckily, there are beautiful necklaces for any budget!
Like the simple chain from yesterday, pearls are quite versatile and can be worn with many different outfits – which is why they’re my third pick for jewelry wardrobe essentials.
$42 for the handmade “Pearly Pebbles Go Green” necklace from Raghouse International:

My next jewelry wardrobe essential?
A simple, elegant fine chain necklace – either in sterling silver or gold, whatever works for your budget.  A simple necklace gives you so much versatility – you can wear it plain, layer it, or add charms or pendants.
$13.99 for this 14″ sterling silver 1mm round Italian chain.

On the other end of the budget…
