KenzoAmour Gift Set At Sephora

I’ve mentioned before that my favorite fragrance is KenzoAmour. A woody-oriental, I love the spiciness of the scent. Every morning, I look at my perfume tray and 4 out of 5 times I grab that familiar bronze bottle.

This is my favorite version of the KenzoAmour le Parfum.

The Right Scent Can Help You Through Your Day

I was reading my latest copy of Women’s Health Magazine and there was an interesting article about scent and it’s effect on mood or feelings. I’ve always felt that scent had a way of elevating a mood, the way you spritz something lovely on, before heading out into the world each day. It’s like a magic elixir that you wear on your skin. The way Women’s Health explains it, your choice of scent can help you get through challenging life events.

KenzoAmour Parfum

For example, if you are feeling depressed, then chose something woody. Something that features notes of sandalwood, amber, cedar, and patchouli. Woody scents are thought to increase endorphins. My favorite, KenzoAmour, would fit perfectly here. If this theory works, then it makes sense that it’s currently my favorite. I’ve been feeling rather down lately and I love the warmth of the fragrance.

Carol’s Daughter Ecstasy

If you are looking for a little loving, then go for a scent with vanilla and musk. Musk and vanilla lead to feelings of relaxation, which is helpful for getting in the mood. In addition, I’ve noticed that my boyfriend smells me more (he’s a big sniffer) when I’m wearing something that has a “food” smell – citrus, vanilla, lime, etc. Carol’s Daughter Ecstasy has a whole list of “food” smells, in addition to just enough musk. It carries notes of pineapple, peach, mango, strawberry, vanilla, and Egyptian musk.

L’Occitane

Carol’s Daughter would probably be good for giving your brain a jumpstart, too. Scents with a citrus base stimulate brain activity, which in turn increases your pep. This is the time of year when the days run long and the nights are full of frantic last-minute shopping or festive holiday parties. To get into the mood, one wise choice would be L’Occitane. It carries the freshness of citrus, as well as verbena (another favorite of mine) and geranium.

The other day, my daughter, Bailey, made the comment that she wished I would buy myself some new clothes after Christmas. I was surprised because usually when she thinks of new clothes, it’s something that she wants. Then, I realized that she was gently saying, “Mom, it’s time to freshen up your wardrobe.” I work part-time at an elementary school and the rest of the time in my home office – I get lazy sometimes.

I’m Mom, sure, but I’d also like to be a confident, attractive, (sexy) woman, as well.

Then, I read about Julie, The Snarkstress’s Challenge, clicked through a few of her posts, found this photo of Jennie Garth, and that’s when I got downright enthusiastic about the whole thing.

I tried the KenzoAmour as part of a fragrance review awhile ago and I’m hooked on it now. It’s a spicy, woody, scent. Very sexy. If you are looking to update your fragrance collection, I suggest you pick some up, or better yet, it’s the holiday season – put it on your wish list.
