Lucite is one of the older forms of plastic – and if you hunt carefully, you can find some great vintage jewelry and accessories made from it!
Lucite was used to mold beads, ornaments and all kinds of jewelry-making supplies from. Check out these great vintage necklaces from the 40s through the 60s:
This two strand necklace has lucite paillettes in different colors from pale yellow to deep amber.
Go for something whimsical with lucite fruit!
Or are flowers more to your taste? These lucite flowers are finished off with faux pearls.

I think this “Long-stemmed Iris” brooch by Alexis Bittar is just exquisite:
