Lucite is one of the older forms of plastic – and if you hunt carefully, you can find some great vintage jewelry and accessories made from it!

Lucite was used to mold beads, ornaments and all kinds of jewelry-making supplies from. Check out these great vintage necklaces from the 40s through the 60s:

This two strand necklace has lucite paillettes in different colors from pale yellow to deep amber.

Go for something whimsical with lucite fruit!

I think this “Long-stemmed Iris” brooch by Alexis Bittar is just exquisite:

It’s made from hand-painted & hand-sculpted Lucite, Swarovski crystal and gray pearls. The details and delicacy just blow me away – it’s worthwhile taking a look at the zoomed in image on the website!
