Twelfth Night, the first play in the festival, ran from June 10th to July 12th and was paired with Thakoon’s “Viola” line, which was named for the character in the play.  As a tribute to the number twelve, there were only twelve pairs produced of each of three color combinations of the Viola line.  Talk about limited edition…this is as exclusive as it gets!

The second play this year is The Bacchae, which is paired with another limited edition sunglasses release.  The play opened on August 11th and is running until September 6th.  Theirry Lasry designed a line of chunky and colorful plastic aviators that were inspired by the strong and daring character Agave.  The color combinations and thickness of the frames create a fun and hip look that would be so great to wear to watch the play!  Again, only twelve pairs in each color combination will be produced in the “Agavy” line, so you better get yours quick.

Lasry wanted to include specific elements from “Shakespeare in the Park” into his purposeful selections for three three color options of Blue, Green, and Vintage:  “Blue, reminiscent of the summer blue sky where Shakespeare in the Park is taking place; green for the green of Central Park, and the third edition [Vintage]  is using a very old vintage acetate from the 80’s reminiscent of the mythological aspect of the play.”

However, if I get get pink, I’m going to get pink! These are $475 and to be honest, sunglasses are an all year item. I’d wear these from January to December…every day of the year! Including the days I pretend to attend amazing tennis matches.

Wimbledon Ready Aviator Sunglasses

I ended up picking up some fabulous $12 orange sunglasses that now are permanently attached to my face during the drive home. These glasses are fun, they’re gaudy, glitzy, and glam, but not the type that I usually pick up. I’m usually that girl that gets the black or brown sunglasses.

Gaudy But Glam Sunglasses of the Weekend

Save Some Green On Earth Day!

Make an Understament With These Shades

So, I started shopping online, and this weekend, I’m taking the time to go and buy some good Spring sunglasses. I haven’t decided which ones, but I think some of these would be good for me, and for everyone else come the new Spring season.

Versace Round Sunglasses ($198)

For the days when I don’t feel like trying hard. This is what I will wear. These glasses are plastic, but also scream luxury with the Versace logo on the edge. They are 100% tinted (which means 100% protection!)

Rock & Republic Maverick Sunglasses

Well, aren’t we all just sick of that word, Maverick, after the 2008 Presidential election? This pair of sunglasses will make me forget about the memories of the word and make me feel like a rock star when I put them on. They are an aviator style with a rebellious skull cut out in the middle (how daring for me!) 100% tinted and 100% protection! They are $285.

D&G Dolce & Gabbana Script Logo Sunglasses ( $170)

If the Maverick sunglasses made me feel like a rock star then these Dolce & Gabanna sunglasses make me feel like a socialite. Check out that crazy logo on the size. The least expensive on my choices. Of course anything is going to be more expensive then my pair of Wal-Mart sunglasses. These are classic, much like the Versace sunglasses. They have a graduated tint, so you can go incognito, but still keep an eye on things.

What do I do? My Sunglasses Broke!

Anyway, point being, she’s very much a role model for younger girls and even older ones who just want to go about their business, whether it be show business, or the regular world. Today, she was spotted in Los Angeles on her way to an audition wearing a retro dress and some gladiator style sandals with some classic Ray Ban Wayfarer sunglasses. I love her hair too!
