The Marc Jacobs Quilted Leather Stam Satchel ($1350) has been reincarnated for the, 2009 Resort Collection, into this gorgeous red shade. It’s quite stunning and the satchel shape of the Stam is a classic that will always be in style.   The framed opening and kiss lock closure hearkens back to a different era, a sort of vintage vibe that screams lady-like.

If I sound biased about this bag it’s because I am. I have one in my handbag collection (in Almond) and I can tell you, it is truly an amazing bag. You’ll find similar bags at lower price points but there’s nothing like the real thing.

Save Big On Designer Handbags

Beginning this November, LOLA will be available in both a Solid Perfume ring and a small 30 ml (1 ounce) size bottle. The ring will arrive at Sephora first and then it will be available in a wider variety of stores by January 2010.  The ring features the same bold flower bloom that tops the full-size bottle with a deep violet outer petal, then a lighter purple, with a red center. It has a gold ring base and comes with a little purple pouch. It will be priced at $42.

The 30 ml bottle is purple and it’s topped with a red bloom. It will be available at department stores this November 2009. It will be priced at $48.

2 New Ways To Enjoy Marc Jacobs LOLA

The Marc Jacobs Stardust Printed Python Rio Satchel is a one of a kind type of bags. It’s a bit on the “look at me” side of the handbag spectrum but I definitely wouldn’t mind looking at this one up close (or getting one as a gift!). I love a good looking satchel and this one is quite fabulous. It’s nicely sized too at 8″W X 4″H X 4″D and there’s a shoulder strap to make it easier to carry.

I love quilted bags and this one is accented with a cool python print all over. It’s also embellished with studs all over which is in tune with the whole ‘hardware’ trend.  The colour is a nice neutral Beige so it’ll go with pretty much any outfit. You can definitely use this now with all your fall outfits and through to Spring and Summer.

This Marc Jacobs bag will run you $1395 – yes, it’s an investment but it’s a really fabulous one.   If you love it, it’s available for pre-order, with an estimated ship date of 11/28 (just in time for the holidays!) at the Saks website.

Marc Jacobs Stardust Printed Python Satchel

I’m on the fence about this actually. On one hand they’re all very convenient and sometimes you do need to go hands-free whilst running errands or even shopping and they’re also great for travel. However, their small size is limiting. Unless of course, you only carry around the bare necessities, in that case, you’re golden.

I checked out the Saks website and pulled a few examples for us to mull over…

What do you think? Novelty or classic?  What I like about these are the adjustable shoulder straps, they allow you to use them as mini shoulder bags which is helpful when you’re going out.  For example, the silver Marc Jacobs bag can be used as an evening bag if you shorten the straps.

Honestly, I have a few bags that are about the size of these (my LV Damier Azur pochette immediately comes to mind) but I use them when we travel or as cosmetic bags to place into my bigger bags. In the grand scheme of my handbag collection, they’re minor players but they are useful.

Marc by Marc Jacobs Totally Turnlock Aggie Tote ($378) If you’re looking for a stylish brief case, this tote is perfect for the job. The deep front pockets, streamlined shape and inky blue shade is complimented very well with gold hardware. There’s even a shoulder strap for hands-free carrying! This versatile bag is also available in a moss green and cream colour.

Shades of dark blue, inky blues and navy are beautiful and a nice alternative to black. These two bags are not only stylish but functional as well. They’ll go with a number of looks and outfits, if you need an outfit idea using one of these bags, check this one out!

The Classic Q Groovee Satchel ($498) definitely lives up to it’s name. Shown here in Aluminum, it’s a wonderful colour for Fall and can be used throughout the year as well. The bag measures a roomy 15¼”W x 10¾”H x 8½”D, but doesn’t feel or look as if it’s that big.

The pebbled leather of this bag is a huge plus as it’s incredibly soft yet lightweight. If you like softly structured yet slouchy bags, this is one to consider as it pretty much puddles when empty.  The hardware is gold tone and the interior is lined in true Marc Jacobs fashion, a funky fabric print, this time in jumbled up white on black letters spelling out his name.

Although you can carry this bag on the crook of your arm, it’s also possible to use it as a shoulder bag thanks to the detachable strap. The strap isn’t adjustable but it’s functional. When carried as a satchel, the strap becomes decorative and it hangs quite nicely.  A grey bag like this can be worn with a simple outfit of jeans and a tee but will also look fantastic with work appropriate ensembles.

Not every designer is going with the candy-colored/sleek lines/chunky accessories trend.  Some designers have been showing accessories with intricate details and softer colors.

For fall, the Pantone fashion color report shows an array of diverse colors that look surprisingly brilliant when paired together.

The question, of course, is how have indie designers incorporated these colors into their creations? Quite well, actually:

Fall’s rich color palette

The Marc by Marc Jacobs Petal to the Metal Sasha Shoulder Bag ($498) caught my eye immediately and not just because it’s a Marc Jacobs (that’s a plus!). The size, 14.5″W x 11.5″H x 5″D, is just big enough to hold what you need but it’s not overwhelming. I love that it’s made out of soft grained lamb leather so it’s not only going to last forever but it feels amazing.

The fun details on this messenger bag are not to be missed. The two doves lend a fun touch to an otherwise plain bag. The gold hardware complements the available colours of black, brown and blue and the interior is lined in a multi-coloured paisley print which is a signature with all Marc by Marc Jacobs bags.

I’m quite sure you’ll be able to fill this bag with whatever you need for a day’s adventure whether it be at a park, shopping or sight-seeing. It’s available at Bloomingdales stores and online for $498
